the roll of a US Marshall is to protect and keep the people safe. Like if someone goes into witness protection the Us Marshall's have to hide them and if the peoples location is compromised they have to do everything in their power to keep the person safe and unharmed. Another job of the Us Marshall is if someone escapes from prison or something of the sort the Us Marshall's have to help look for them, so that the public wont get hurt.
