The meaning of a word and how its used makes it a curse word. The b-word means a female dog, but its also used as an insult.
Another answerThere are two ways to answer this:On one hand, a curse word is one used to wish someone harm, or worse - death and hell.
On the other, any word used in a negative way to and/or about someone is a curse word.
Hint:
1- the way you say it
2- its meaning in the society you live in
It's bad because the words have traditionally become to be known as rude. Other people just don't want you saying them. It seems they fall into at least four categories as to what makes them rude.
1. Misuse of religious terms and concepts or treating sacred things lightly. Using God's name without reason or uselessly is what it means to take God's name in vain. It is bad enough to condemn someone to a bad place, but invoking the name of a deity may make it seem worse, particularly if the listeners worship that deity. Swearing initially meant making oaths/promises. That isn't bad if you are honest and plan on keeping your word. But some people were not trustworthy, and they would add sacred things to the promises. They would swear in the name of God or the temple, or ask God to strike them dead if they were lying. An honest person would never need to do that, since they are always telling the truth and don't have to include collateral like when taking out a loan. This category falls under swearing, profanity, cursing, and depending on the severity, blasphemy.
2. Vulgar (common) words. These are words used mostly by the uneducated, and mostly include words for bodily functions, sex organs, the buttocks, etc. While the body parts and concepts aren't rude, the way the words for them to use and their other meanings make them rude. The words are about things you would likely not discuss while eating. They are particularly rude when directed at other people as either names (calling someone waste material) or in an aggressive manner.
3. Obscenity, or explicit sexuality. There is some overlap with the previous, but sexual terms are used to shock others to tell explicity sexual things in detail.
4. Hate speech. These are words that are used to degrade someone based on their race, gender, family status, nationality, skin color, sexual orientation, intelligence, religion, and other characteristics about them. Most of these characteristics cannot be changed, and the few that can be are difficult to change.
Bad words are disrespectful because they hurt others.
Why are bad words so bad, they are bad
Because they can hurt you, make your life different,
Make your choices more complicated, and
You won't be the same of want after you have changed.
Saying bad words are not ok because when you say them your not the same person you thought you were.
WRONG!!
curse words are not bad. Like if i told you to STFU it would make you feel bad but will it really hurt u? no it's not like they can kill you .It is me but i enjoy it.
Bad Words bring people down. yea i say curse words, but not like to peoples faces. its not necessary to say curse words. Not only does it hurt peoples feelings, but it is also using gods name in vain. and if someone were to tell you somn like STFU then im pretty sure you would feel the same way. and sometimes, people feel left out, and wen other people curse at them, they might commit suicide. so its not a bright idea to curse.
Most likely because of offensive meanings from cultures or the word/s was used in a bad or offensive way in the past.
Profanity or a curse word is a word that is used that shows ignorence is also a sin.
they didnt, you tw@!
There are lots of vulgar words. In English, words that are profane are based on things that can morally disgust someone, such as excrement (the s-word), eternal damnation (the h-word), sexual organs (there's a few of them), the posterior (the a-word), racism (the n-word, as well as many others), and the all-encompassing f-word.
You can write a sentence about a certain person doing the act. For example: The teacher expelled the student for using profanity. Also, you can say that something has profanity. "The textbook contains profanity in it."
Not Necessarily A Bad/Curse Word But It’s Not A Word That You Should Get Used To. Some People Might Consider It One. And It’s Sometimes Is Banned At Schools.

No. Alice in Wonderland didn't use any profanity or curse words in either the original books or the 1951 Disney animation.
Some of the more popular terms are obscenity, swear, blasphemy, curse, cuss word, dirty word, swearing, and taboo. There are some others but the above words are the best to use in everyday conversation.
