Why did Humphry Davy invent the arc lamp?

He was a poineer in physics and electricity. An arc lamp produces a very bright light from the electric arc betwen electrodes. Although it gave light, they were fiddly to use, as the electrodes burnt away. This was before the invention of incandescent lamps (Swann / Edison). So it was an early attempt and experiment to make light from electricity. He also invented a safety lamp for use in coal mines. These protected a naked flame from inflammable gas, with a wire gause, to prent the lamp causing an explosion in mines. Do not confuse the two. The use of an arc lamp in a mine WOULD cause a fire or explosion.

What is used in high intensity discharge lamp to create light?

High Intensity Discharge (HID) lamps are a type of arc lamp. An HID lamp is comprised of a "glass" arc tube filled with a gas and a metal salt. The tube is generally fitted with two tungsten electrodes. Current applied to the electrodes is initially conducted in an arc through the gas. This initial arc raises the temperature of the metal salt until it vaporizes. At this point, the arc is conducted by the vaporized salt, greatly increasing the light output and decreasing the electrical current consumed. There are several types of HID lamps in current use:Mercury-vaporMetal-halide (MH)Ceramic MHLow Pressure Sodium-vaporHigh Pressure Sodium-vaporXenon short-arcEach chemistry offers a different mix of operating characteristics including light intensity, color temperature, color rendering index (CRI), energy efficiency, and lifespan. The "glass" from which the arc tube is made must withstand extremely high operating temperatures and is typically composed of translucent or transparent fused quartz or fused alumina..

What degree need to become a filmmaking?

For filmmaking, degrees mean little. Experience is more important. You'll find the most successful filmmakers rarely went to school for it.

An arc lamp is a lamp that produces light by an electric arc. The carbon arc light, which consists of an arc between carbon electrodes in air, invented by Humphry Davy in the early 1800s, was the first practical electric light.

What is an arc lamp?

An arc lamp is a general term for a class of lamps that uses an electric arc or voltage arc to create light. You've seen the bright light given off by electric arc welding, and the idea of the electric arc is the principle behind an arc lamp.
