The act is scored in a similar fashion to a bell curve. view http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Actgraph.jpg The national average is about 20, so a good score depends on what kind of a student you are. Scoring ranges from 1-36. However, less than two percent of students score from 30-36. The 90% percentile is typically around 27, so a score of 27 or higher would be excellent.
Better ACT scores may be obtained by tenaciously studying each subject. Just as important as the actual tested subjects, understanding how the test is scored and what to expect helps tremendously. It would be wise to purchase an ACT test prep book, take note of the tips given, and complete the practice tests. Additionally, it would be wise to take the ACT in the fall of your junior year in high school as to allow enough time for you to study and retake for a desirable score.
I took it three times and received a 31 my last time; I know I wouldn't have been able to receive that score if I had taken it any later in my high school career.
Best of luck!
Thirty six is the highest score a person can get on the ACT. A general rule is that any score that is above fifteen is a good score.
That is not good.
you can only get a 36...
The average ACT score in the USA is a 21. The highest possible score on the ACT however is a 36. To get into a college like UCSD, the average seems to be like a 26-32. So a good score would probably be a 25-29 but a great score would be a 30-36!
YES!
having that score is not good because they give you 12 automatically....so if i was you i would retake it and study for the test this time.....
what is the ACT score composite score
All I have to say is... welcome to harvard kid.
If a young 13 year old (Sept. BD) in 8th grade scored a composite score of 21 on the ACT, would that be considered a good score, all things considered?
This question is best asked of the dePaul Admissions Office, with particular detail given to your score.
