Cancer is most likely to be found in the spring time. Around mid April or May is the best time to view it. At 9:00 pm is when you will get the best view of this constellation.
The constellation of Cancer was not really "discovered or found" at any point in time but was passed on from ancient times through myth and folklore. It got the name we know today from the Greeks and is associated with the myth of Hercules. It is important to understand that the pattern of stars now known as the constellation Cancer, and any constellation for that matter, meant different things to different people throughout the ages.
