Synapsing occurs during Prophase 1, it is when the homologs line up beside each other and form a zipper-like connection between each other. This zipper-like connection is called a "chiasmata." During synapsing "crossing over" can occur. Crossing over is when the chromosomes overlap one another at a certain point, the chromosomes will then exchange a certain part of their arm with the other chromosome's arm. This happens differently everytime, so increasing the diversity of the offspring. Hopefully, this is not too confusing. Once you see a diagram illustrating crossing over, it is really rather simple to understand. Have fun learning!
Prophase I when the homologous chromosomes come together and form tetrads.
Middle Prophae I of Meiosis
Diplotene stage of meiosis I phase
prophase 1.
DNA replication always occurs at cell nucleus itself
One thing that happens in meiosis that does not occur in meiosis is that produces 2 cellular divisions. This occurs as a direct result of sexual reproduction.
Prophase
no
prophase I
Diplotene stage of meiosis I phase
prophase 1.
in what phase of meiosis does synapse occur ?
Crossing over occurs during Prophase I of meiosis.
prophase1The first phase of meiosis is Prophase I
prophase1The first phase of meiosis is Prophase I
mutation is change and it doesnt happen during division. You must have got confused
Anaphase I, and then again in Anaphase II--two seperations occur in meiosis.
when does the duplication of chromosomes occur?
Inter-phase occurs before mitosis or meiosis.
