The most powerful of the systemic pesticides doesn't need to be used against scale on indoor plants. Entry level organic pesticides such as horticultural oil or insecticidal soap get the job done, slowly but surely and safely. The oil may need a summer and two winter applications. It's particularly effective against the egg stage in the scale life cycle.
Insecticidal soap may be home made or store bought. Basically, it's just dish washing [not dishwasher] soap and water. It's particularly effective against the soft bodied crawler stage of the scale life cycle.
In coming up with a battle plan, it's important to identify the particular plant and the particular scale. In fact, there are many different kinds of scale. Generally, they ultimately respond to the above mentioned treatments. But there are exceptions. For example, insecticidal soap tends not to be effective against Japanese, lecanium, oak kermes, obscure, tuliptree or wax scales.
Also regarding a battle plan, it generally isn't advisable to use pesticides inside. The problem lies in their residual nature. Specifically, different pesticides last different amounts of times after their application in the environment. But horticultural oil and insecticidal soap aren't long lasting. That's why they tend to need a couple of applications to do the job.
scale insect infestation
They live in indoor plants and orchards.
I tried a systemic insecticide on my scale-infested ficus a few weeks ago, but so far no luck. The same insecticide worked wonders on our huge outdoor tree that was infested with whiteflies, but maybe it doesn't work on scale. The label says it does though - I think it's the Bayer brand from Home Depot. Systemic generally is not the best idea for scale infestations. An application of a dormant oil is recommend either in the fall, or in the early spring before the tree begins to bud. A systemic is best for root feeding, and burrowing insects
Try dapping Methylated spirit onto the scale insect direct with a cotton bud.
No, Furadan is not used as a fumigant.Specifically, a fumigant designates a gaseous pesticide which poisons or suffocates pests within a covered, sealed environment. Furadan is a trade name for the toxic carbamate pesticide carbofuran whose original application was by granules or liquid. It serves as a contact and systemic insecticide against insect pests and nematicide against parasitic nematodes. It will be found particularly in use in the large-scale cultivation of corn, potatoes and soybeans.

Because DDT was a very useful pesticide, which meant that wealthy and powerful landowners had higher yields and made more money ... small scale farmers weren't wiped out and of course the pesticide manufacturers made small fortunes. What was a declining bird population etc., to these people ...
Albumin levels indicate issue with kidneys or the liver. Without knowing the baseline scale you are using, the question can't be answered.
