Who is a hero... and why?

A villain is an evildoer, a bad guy, or an antagonist, an enemy.

The term derives from "free" vassals (villeins) in feudal Europe who were answerable only to the feudal lord, or liege, and were therefore higher in social status than ordinary serfs. The unchivalrous actions of some villeins led to the modern connotation of an evil or wicked person.

A protagonist who is the opposite of a traditional hero. The anti-hero may be incompetent, unlucky, clumsy, dumb, ugly, or clownish.

A person you least expect to end up being the hero, such as someone who is weaker, younger, has a great number of character flaws, or displays a lack of willingness to perform a task considered to be heroic. A classic example of an antihero is Holden Caulfield in Catcher in the Rye.

Think about it. What makes someone admirable?respectable? what makes someone a good person? what is a good person? what makes them a good person? is it that they help others, or is it that they have the strength and confidence to help themselves?

I think that a hero is someone who you look up to and is there to help in many different ways and can make a difference in the world. They can help in the smallest ways by just being a shoulder to cry on, or the more extreme, by saving a life, but over all tehy make a difference to someone and make their lives generally better. A hero is a man of distinguished courage or ability, admired for his brave deeds and noble qualities. A villain is a cruelly malicious person who is involved in or devoted to wickedness or crime; scoundrel.
