What is an ASE master certified mechanic?
ASE is the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence. An ASE certified Mechanic has been instructed and tested on how to perform maintenance on a vehicle. There are different areas of specialization for ASE certifications for different systems on a car. ASE certified mechanics aren't necessarily better mechanics but they take the job seriously to get certified and if you have a choice you should choose a mechanic with an ASE Certification. The person asked what is an ase MASTER mechanic? This specifically means the mechanic has passed all or nearly all certifications (tests) available in a test series (ie: auto, med truck, collision, etc ...) and the mechanic must also document at least two years of hands-on work experience. For example in the auto series there are 8 tests (A1 through A8) required before you are considered a master mechanic.

Well to start, you have to have some knowledge about the auto industry. Some schooling and two years of work experience. The work experience could be less if you complete cert…ain requirements. Do all the certifications in a group like A1-9 Automotive repair and you can become a master technician. You have to write an exam. They have 4 test times per year, In fall and spring they have CBT (computer base testing) and summer and winter winter written. You will take the test at an ACT centre. Pass, submit you work experience or relevant documents and you will be certified. They have a wonderful customer support very helpful. After you wrote and passed your 1st exam enroll in myASE. There you can track all you tests and certifications, you can do it from there website www.ase.com or www.act.org/ase/myase it takes 30 min to update. Good Luck
its somewhere around $17.00 hour. flat rate in most cases but experience and the employer can make the difference
"in my own opinion ,a master mechanic should be making about 35 bucks an hour to start ." Mechanics in general are not payed by hourly or salary figures. They are payed based… on how much time a given task is estimated to take. If a job is estimated to take 1.3 hours and you take two hours you are making less if you do it faster then the estimated time your making more. So the rate of pay is entirely determined by the set estimated hour rate and how besy the shop is (your not payed wile sitting around waiting on a customer). So the average pay is anywhere from 25k to 75k a year depending on how fast you get the job done and how besy your shop is. Now this can change drasticly depending on if your a specialist such as turbo/super installation or proformance exhaust and other custom design work.
I am a Lexus and ASE master certified technician with 20 years experience and I make $25 per flat rate hour. I'm located in Northeast Ohio.

ANSWER: MMI (Motorcycle Mechanics Inst.) is the best school you can go to for this trade. Go to any Harley shop, and they will ask if you have been to MMI before anything els…e. There are 2 locations, Phoenix and Orlando, and both offer more than just Harley mechanics.
Sure. You might even get a job as a mechanic.
Inspection laws vary from state to state. State governments do not recognize ASE certifications.
ASE Technicians must have at least 2 years of experience and pass the examination. Completion of an automotive training program in high school, vocational or trade school, or …community or junior college may be substituted for 1 year of experience. For ASE certification as a Master Automobile Technician, technicians must be certified in all eight areas.8 different areas of automotive service, such as electrical systems, engine repair, brake systems, suspension and steering, and heating and air-conditioning.These are just some of the guidelines that have to be met.I dont think theres a age limit but I would say you probably be over 18 by the time u actually got the certification.
An ASE Certified technician is a mechanic who has fulfilled the voluntary requirements for certification by the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence.
26-30 flat rate depands on time there and experience and value to that store.
