If you find an answer to this- I'd really like to know too! AND- how to get rid of it! I've got it growing all through my mulch beds- wrapped around branches on bushes, trees & other plants- I rip it out & 2 weeks later it's all back.

I'm sure you are talking about milkweed vine.

Gets pods on it later in season

just keep pulling it out---when the pods open --it spreads seeds

I believe that its called "Trumpet vine" and it IS a weed but, with very pretty trumpet flowers.
