Bio-Slender is a natural supplement used for the treatment of Obesity and pre-obesity. The product is manufactured by Firstmed Pharma a small laboratory in Alabama. The capsules are made from Green Tea, Dandelion root, Garcina Cambogia and 5-HTP. The product works by reducing ones appetite so the patient can regain portion control which is very important in weight management. This product is save for long term treatment protocols up to 24 months.

Two important components are:

Garcina Cambogia Extract, also known as Citrimax, contains 50% hydroxycitric acid (HCA) which works with the body's own natural use of calories. It suppresses appetite by redirecting calories away from fat production and towards the formation of glycogen. Glycogen is the stored form of glucose, one of the body's primary sources of energy. Increased glycogen production and storage is the body's normal way of signaling the brain's satiety centre that enough food has been eaten. HCA is not a central nervous system stimulant. HCA is most effective at influencing appetite, increasing energy levels and inhibiting fat and cholesterol production

5-HTP or 5-Hydroxytryptophan, is a metabolite of the amino acid tryptophan. 5-HTP is similar to tryptophan in that the body converts them to serotonin. It is a precursor to Serotonin, the neurotransmitter that regulates mood, behavior, appetite, and sleep function. 5-HTP has putative bariatric actions. Serotonin is known to regulate feeding behavior and decrease food intake in humans.

5-HTP does not metabolize in the liver so unlike other products that can effect the liver 5-HTP has no effect on this organ.
