Bluetooth is a communications protocol. It's like a "language" between the devices that use it to communicate wirelessly. You could look at it as a language in this light, and for something like, say, a bluetooth cell phone to "talk" to a bluetooth headset, the units have to "speak the same language" to communicate wirelessly. And bluetooth is a language that permits each unit to reach the other with the data being transmitted and arriving in a specific way so that it can then be converted. In a bluetooth headset, our voice goes out and the audio from the incoming call arrives. These information streams are converted to digital bluetooth signals, and the data flows into and out of the headset. The headset "understands" the incoming signal from the cell phone, and can convert it into audio for us to hear. And the headset converts our voice into a bluetooth signal that it then sends to the phone, which "understands" that signal and converts it to be broadcast to the cell hub. The key to Bluetooth is the management of the information (or data) stacks, and the manner in which they are broadcast, and that is handled a little differently by different devices. Bluetooth is a wireless protocol for exchanging data over short distances from fixed and mobile devices, creating personal area networks. It can connect several devices, overcoming problems of synchronization. Bluetooth uses a radio technology called frequency hopping spread spectrum.

Bluetooth is a wireless radio signal technology that allows devices that support it to communicate with one another (e.g. cell phone to car sound system, or cell phone to wireless headset).

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

It is basically a device with the help of which we can carry out a communication for short distances.

Bluetooth is essentially a short-range radio. Here's a little tech information from the Wikipedia article. See the links to the right for more info. A Bluetooth device playing the role of the "master" can communicate with up to 7 devices playing the role of the "slave". This network of "group of up to 8 devices" (1 master + 7 slaves) is called a piconet. At any given time, data can be transferred between the master and 1 slave; but the master switches rapidly from slave to slave in a round-robin fashion. (Simultaneous transmission from the master to multiple slaves is possible, but not used much in practice). Either device may switch the master/slave role at any time. Bluetooth specification allows connecting 2 or more piconets together to form a scatternet, with some devices acting as a bridge by simultaneously playing the master role in one piconet and the slave role in another piconet. These devices have yet to come, though are supposed to appear next year (2007).

Bluetooth works by a radio signal, which is put out by the device and creates a data link. People then can use a bluetooth device to connect computers, mobile phones, headsets, vending machines etc.

The success, is in making the format open to everyone in a common standard that all manufacturers can use.

Named after King Harald Bluetooth, who got the viking tribes to talk to each other. Pioneered by famous viking phone makers Nokia and Erricson.

it will be work as a wireless communication in transmited information can be received by receiver kit.

*Cats-4tw says:

it does not work with wireless, bluetooth is on a separate connection between devices. Bluetooth is compatible with most phones, computers, ect. and its main purpose is "file share'. You can transfer music, documents, contacts, ect. is pretty good

:) Hope this helped

Bluetooth sends and receives radio waves in a band of 79 different frequencies (channels) centered on 2.45 GHz, set apart from radio, television, and cellphones, and reserved for use by industrial, scientific, and medical gadgets. Bluetooth devices automatically detect and connect to one another and up to eight of them can communicate at any one time. They don't interfere with one another because each pair of devices uses a different one of the 79 available channels. If two devices want to talk, they pick a channel randomly and, if that's already taken, randomly switch to one of the others (a technique is known as spread-spectrum frequency hopping). To minimize the risks of interference from other electrical appliances (and also to improve security), pairs of devices constantly shift the frequency they're usingโ€”thousands of times a second.

When a group of two or more Bluetooth devices is sharing information together, they form a kind of ad-hoc, mini computer network called a piconet. Other devices can join or leave an existing piconet at any time. One device (known as the master) acts as the overall controller of the network, while the others (known as slaves) obey its instructions. Two or more separate piconets can also join up and share information forming what's called a scatternet.

How do you enable your built in bluetooth adapter?

Bluetooth adapters or devices are products that give individuals greater freedom, by allowing handsfree and remote access to their electronic devices. First, an individual must be sure that the device they are using is "bluetooth friendly". Some devices do not allow bluetooth adapters. Typically, when a blue tooth adapter is enabled to "discover" mode, and the electronic device is on to the bluetooth setting, the bluetooth adapter will "find" the electronic device and self-install. If this does not work, then the person would need to follow the devices exact printed directions, which usually comes with the adapter.

Will a wireless printer work with a Samsung Bluetooth?

The answer to your question actually depends on whether or not your wireless printer is Bluetooth-enabled or Bluetooth-compatible. If it is Bluetooth-enabled, you should have no problem setting up a connection between your two devices. If it is Bluetooth-compatible, you will need to purchase the applicable adapter or dongle for it before you can set up a connection. If it is neither Bluetooth-enabled nor Bluetooth-compatible, your Samsung Galaxy S will not work with it.
