Decoupage is the art of gluing cut-out paper images onto any surface to form a pleasing decorative composition, and then coating the finished product with a varnish or other clear protective coating to preserve the piece. What can be decoupaged? Artists (or "decoupeurs") often decoupage unpainted wooden or papier-mache boxes and even glass plates, but just about anything that doesn't move can be decoupaged.
