Inducer in pump used to reduce the NET POSITIVE SUCTION HEAD Required (NPSHr). NPSHa should be more than NPSHr. NPSHr depends upon pump design and NPSHa depends upon Head in application. If NPSHr is more than NPSHa, We can reduce the same by fixing inducer in front of impeller.

Diffuser used to increase the pressure. Diffuser is the static part around the impeller. It decreases the velocity of fluid which rotates by impeller and increases performance.

How do you remove fiffuser exposing the impeller from a a.o. smith type c pump shaft?

The diffuser is usually connected to the back plate of the wet end of pool pump that houses the filter basket. It is typically attached by two fine Allen head at the 10 and 4 positions. To remove you need to detach the wet end from the pump end to remove the diffuser.

Differences between fixed displacement pump and variable displacement pump?

the main difference between them is the way that energy is added to the fluid to be converted to pressure increase. In dynamic pumps, energy is added to the fluid continuously through the rotary motion of the blades. These rotating blades raise the momentum of fluid and the momentum then is converted to pressure energy through diffuser in pump outlet. In positive displacement pumps, the energy is added periodically to the fluid. the pump has reciprocating motion by pistons for example. When the fluid enters the pump through valves, the reciprocating piston begins to press the fluid resulting in going out of the pump with pressure rise.

What is the function of the impeller in a centrifugal pump?

Impeller make the flow has velocity in a centrifugal pump. The purpose of pump is increasing the pressure. The flow has velocity envergy via impeller and the energy change to pressure energy in diffuser.
