Essentially a turbine looks like a jet engine in reverse, where steam, gas, or liquid is forced through at speed or high pressure to turn a central rotor.

if we cut one open the turbine looks like a series of fans inside a tube. Each fan from the from of the tube gets progressively smaller pitched blades.In between each moving blade is a static fan blade to redirect the wake of the previous blade section and increase the speed of the turbine rotor.
