It depends which country and branch of service one is speaking of. The American military does not have the rank of Major-Colonel, the ranks of Major, Lt. Colonel and Colonel all out rank a Captain, unless the Captain is Navy or Coast Guard, then he would be equal in rank to the Colonel. In US Military, in all but the Navy, the order of these three ranks from lowest to highest is: * Captain * Major * Lieutentant Colonel * Colonel A Captiain in the Navy is the equivalent in rank of a Colonel in the Army, USAF or USMC
The Colonel is the highest of these ranks. This also applies to the Air Force and Marine Corps rankings. In the Navy, the equivalent ranks are Lieutenant, Lieutenant Commander, and Captain respectively.
Yes..Major is just above a Captain..Then Colonel after Major.
A Colonel is higher than a Major, and a Major is higher than a Captain.
A Captain in the US Army is an O-3, a Colonel is an O-6; the Colonel outranks the Captain.
Colonel is the highest of the three. Major is two ranks below a Colonel, and Captain is one rank below a Major.
Colonel is a higher rank than Major.
Colonel
The actual tern should be senior, not powerful. The rank of Major is senior to the rank of Captain in the Army. HOWEVER, the NAVY rank of Captain is the equivalent of an Army Colonel, which is senor to that of Major.
There is a Command Sergeant Major rank in the US Army and US Marine Corps. There is no "Command Sergeant Major Leader" rank, however.
The Army Major outranks an Army Captain. Their relative power might have more to do with their jobs and responsibilities, though.
top rank. you cant get any higher.
This is filed under US ARmy and US Navy, so let me clarify.. A Captain in the Army is pay grade O3, whereas a Colonel in the Army is pay grade O6. Colonel is the higher of the two. The Navy has a different rank structure for officers than the other branches. A Captain in the Navy is 06 - equivalent to Colonel. The rank of Colonel does not exist in the Navy.
Lieutenant Colonel.
Which military is this? The question is categorised under US Army and US Navy, but neither rank exists in any branch of the US military. I mean are they the same rank nd my bad for the catagories in any military I mean
Sergeant Major of the Army is the highest rank NCO.
His rank is Captain, his pay grade is 0-3.
Command Sergeant Major is the highest enlisted rank in the US Army
Which Navy did you have in mind? There is no such rank in the US Navy. Command Sergeant Major is a high enlisted rank in the US Army, and denotes the senior NCO of whatever unit or element they hold the position in (it can be anywhere from Battalion to Army level).
There is no rank called "colonial." The rank "Colonel" is below General and above Lt. Colonel, Major, Captain, and so on.
