The Iglesia ni Cristo was founded by Felix Manalo, an ex-Catholic and ex-Protestant minister. He incorporated his church and registered it under the Philippines in July 27, 1914.

The Iglesia ni Cristo is the Tagalog (Filipino) word for Church Of Christ. Most ChristianS do not consider them as such since they deny the divinity of Christ. After Felix Manalo's death, the leadership was transferred to his son Eraño Manalo. Today, its Executive Minister is Eduardo V. Manalo, grandson of the founder after Eraño died in 2009. Many of the Filipinos believed it's a Manalo business.

The Iglesia ni Cristo is found around the world where Filipinos mostly Overseas Filipino Workers or immigrants are present. It is an all-Filipino Church.

IGLESIA NI CRISTO FOUNDER AND HISTORY

A Christian Cult made up in the early 1900s by a Filipino man who studied abroad to steal ideas and learn from the various religions during the time and later creating a career for himself in a leadership role as the next God's messenger following Jesus.

Even though there were already hundreds of Church of Christ denominations that existed during the early 1900s, he wanted his own and created his own "Church of Christ" within the Philippines which locally translates to Iglesia Ni Cristo.

The new self-proclaimed God's new messenger, Felix Manalo, later appeared in court in a sexual immorality case in 1942 under the "People vs. Rosita Trillanes". Court of Justices states "...Manalo, took advantage of his position as head of the Iglesia ni Cristo, and...employed religion as a cloak to cover his...immoral practices; that he pretended to be the Messias sent by God; and that to persuade his victims, he cited the example of Solomon and his many wives"

In 1954, the newspaper The Bombshell published a three-part story concerning Felix Manalo. The first part was published on October 21 with front page headline "IGLESIA NI CRISTO 'HEAD' ANGEL OR SEX MANIAC?" The article includes an authentic letter of confession from a certain Rosita Trillanes who, according to her, was raped several times by the leader of INC himself, Felix Manalo.

Even after Felix's death, Iglesia ni Cristo continues to expand their Christian cult with leadership restricted only within the Manalo family. Starting with Erano Malano, and now Eduardo Manalo. Many refer to Iglesia ni Cristo or Church of Christ as "Iglesia ni Manalo" or "Church of Manalo".

A FILIPINO GLOBAL CHURCH

Thus far, the membership of the Iglesia Ni Cristo comprises at least 102 nationalities which mostly are places where migrant workers are required by their host countries. It maintains about 5,400 local congregations grouped into 104 ecclesiastical districts in the Philippines and in 90 more countries and territories in the six inhabited continents of the world. However, its exact number of members are a top secret. Some believes especially during elections in the Philippines that their number reaches to less than 10 millions.
