Iron
Added:
Many (not all) metals are rusting because they can donate electrons to oxygen (or another oxidiser, like strong acid)
Example:
2Fe --> 2Fe2+ + 4 e-
O2 + 4 e- --> 2 O2-
________________________ +
2Fe + O2 --> 2 FeO
Rust is the result of oxygen combining with metal. It is called iron oxide. Its ironic that we need oxygen to live, and yet it is one of the most corrosive elements in the universe.
it makes it rust and corrode
Oranges and other acidic fruit like lemon have acids in them that will rust the metal
Iron is the only metal that can rust. The usual term for the destruction of a metal by oxidation is corrosion, and 'rust' or 'rusting' is the term for corrosion specific to iron and its compounds.
For one, iron can rust and is very hard.
Firstly, put metal into water. When these two chemicals engage, the watery metal get's exposed to oxygin which produces rust. So all you need for this is metal and water!
acid rain is what most commonly makes metal rust
it makes it rust and corrode
it makes it rust and corrode
Oxygen is the only gas which rust the metals.
Because it takes shiney metal and makes it rusty
What can make a metal rust fastest is meat enzyme it might take a few days but it will help Water is another substance that can make a metal rust fast Another substance is soda and sugar
Any water makes iron rust. Rust is iron oxide. It happens when water allows the oxygen to dissolve in it and get to the surface of the metal. Salt water has dissolve salts in it which makes it work faster.
Aerosol does not make metal rust, rust is actually another element in the air effecting the metal.
A 25 cent coin (quarter will not rust- they are no made of ferrous metal. They may tarnish- usually from exposure to air and sulfur.

rust is the oxidation of iron. oxidation happens to nearly all metals, as they are reactive. the iron combines with oxygen to create iron oxide. it makes the metal brittle and it will fall apart. so no, rust does NOT make it stronger.
Gold is not the only metal that does not rust. Copper is another metal that doesn't rust, and so is platinum and nickel.
