It is most definitely NOT a pyramid scheme. MLM (multi-level marketing) is a business model wherein a company pays commissions to affiliates who introduce people to the product. These people may then become customers who in turn repeat the process. That is the most simple explanation. A pyramid scheme is a a scam where people simply pay into the "pyramid" but never get a return on investment. The only ones making money are at the top of the "pyramid". MLM is a legitimate, if not slightly misunderstood, business model that can generate residual income. Like any business, one must put forth some effort to see a return. The problem with this industry lies with people who make false promises of huge riches. Success in any business is not guaranteed, but for the right type of person MLM can be profitable.
