It is recommended to use the latest version of Firefox (this can be dowloaded from the Mozilla Firefox website for free). 1) Click on the orange 'Firefox' button at the top left-hand corner of the browser window. 2) A drop-down menu appears: on the right-hand side of this menu is 'Add-ons' with a picture of a jigsaw puzzle next to it. Click on 'Add-ons' (it is just above 'help' and 'options'). 3) It should bring you to a page in a new tab called 'Add-ons Manager'. This page has a series of images on the left-hand side. Clicking on 'Get Add-ons' (the top image) will let you browse through all the available add-ons for Firefox. Some may only work on earlier versions of Firefox but most should be available and they are all free. All the personas, themes and extensions are accessible from this page. Personas are the customisable part at the very top of your browser. They are just the pattern you see (you could add a flag or an image there, for example). Themes control the whole display of your browser. Finally, extensions are extra functions such as toolbars, advert blockers, privacy protection software, etc. When applying a new persona to Firefox, holding the mouse cursor above the green button which says 'Add to Firefox' will give you a preview of what the persona looks like before you install it. Most extensions require you to restart Firefox - doing this is simple as you just close it and open it again.

Yes it is, I use firefox with my windows 7 pro laptop and find firefox 8 very very good. I would use it rather then IE any day. Chrome doesnt have as many addons and I sometimes have problems with loading pages. To make firefox faster download the addon firefox preloader. It'll tell you where to go from there. For security download the addons better privacy,bit defender traffic light,ghostery and noscript. Dont use internet explorer or safari. Those are the worst browsers. I am currently looking for a browser like firefox but faster. Firefox's speed is good. If you want it to be faster when opening it then,firefox preloader is the solution. Also you should use personas to customise the look. Firefox is the most customizable browser out there. I'ts also one of the best browsers out there.
Do you prefer Mozilla Firefox browser to the Microsoft internet explorer?
This is purely a matter of opinion and I personally am undecided. Mozilla Firefox can be customised with themes, personas and extensions (add-ons). However, Internet Explorer is shared by most computers (and some other Microsoft products including several smart phones) so I can connect to my friends a little easier. It is purely a matter of preference.
