Poetic Symbolizing is when the poet uses a figure of speech. The poet uses objects, people, or settings that mean more than what it physically/literally is.

example: I am in a torrent of storms,

A hurricane dashing against my window,

How it restrains with great strength,

Dashing,

A shatter is heard,

It is over,

Life,

Such is its fate,

The poet is comparing a window to hope. The storm represents the difficulties in life. When the window shatters. Life feels broken and torn. You can not get back up. Hope is gone.

(Yes, I know, how dramatic)
