In another sense of the word, we talk about ethnic pride and national pride, particularly at Olympic times. Then it is a sense of satisfaction and joy -- a very positive usage of this word. As well, you can have great pride in accomplishment such as winning a scholastic award and/or scholarship, or in an achievement such as learning how to swim.
Thus pride can have two very different aspects or senses -- a positive one and a negative one.
I'll have to go off topic for some reasons.
It mostly depends but if you can, avoid it at all cost especially if you are really onto the Sin beliefs as in the Seven Deadly Sins which consist of Pride, Gluttony, Lust, Greed, Sloth, Envy and Wrath. Everything stated, you have to know how to control yourself to Balance things or to completely be perfect which won't be easy.
Having a little Pride is okay but try to avoid it at all cost because among all the Sins, Pride is the most dangerous so you must learn how to control yourself because if you don't, you wold end up doing things like when you become rich, you don't care about your friends anymore and maybe even your own family or so and it might even lead you to Greed.
Gluttony is about food. It is okay to eat but don't over-eat like a Boar.
Lust is not good especially at a young age to try to avoid doing too much of those... yuck... Sex thing.
Greed is also Bad because you might end up Stingy and neglect many things and people like refusing to donate or so but it is okay to be rich just as long as you know how to use your money wisely.
Sloth is not really good because your life might end up extremely short and you might live as a beggar or poor person or so.
Envy is normal but too much of it is really bad because you might end up doing bad things like stealing (people or objects) which will give you a lot of trouble.
Wrath is Bad... really, really Bad. How would you like if someone was to hit you for no reason at all or they simply just feel like it or they feel bored or so?
So yeah... in short, avoid Pride as much as you can.
P.S.: I am not a Christian but if we do end up in you know where, then you would take these in mind.
