The camshaft spins at half the engine speed. The crankshaft spins 2 times for every one revolution of the camshaft
Cam spins at half the speed of the engine.
cam and crank shaft
One thing is for sure, it wouldn't run.
it could be one of the sensors crank shaft or cam shaft
crank or cam shaft position sensor is sometime the issue.it will not fuel if it cannot find the position of the cam or crank
ck cam shaft sensor, check crank shaft sensor also.
Crank shaft sensor need replaced or cam shaft sensor
1. Pistons 2.Cam shaft 3. Crank shaft 4. Engine walls
A timing belt links the crank shaft to the cam shaft(s) mechanically, to keep the cam(s) turning at the same rate as the crank, at a given, possibly variable ratio. that allows the right valves to be open at the right time during each stroke made by a piston. piston connects to crank, crank to cam, cam to valve. Make sense? No it doesn't make sense, even though linked together by the timing belt the camshaft and crankshaft to not turn at the same speed, just look at the size of the camshaft pulley and the crankshaft pulley as they are different sizes the speeds are different!
cam chains are a chain the attach to the crankshaft and the cam shaft , the crankshaft is the shaft making the pistons go up and down the cam shaft makes the valves open and close, the crank shaft and cam shaft have to be aligned a certain way or the car will not fire, this is called "timing" . if your looking for where it is , its most likely in the front of the engine get a pro to look at it.
swirl ratio = air rotational speed / crank shaft speed of an ic engine
A bad cam or crank sensor can cause a no start, but the engine will still crank or turn over.
