The iPhone 4 has what Apple is calling "Retina Display". What they mean is that the human eye can only see around 300 pixels per inch and they have built the iPhone 4 with 326 pixels per inch. This has the effect of making text and images look smoother and more similar to a high quality printed version.

∙ 12y agoIt is a high resolution display. There is 4x as many pixels so it is 4x as sharp. This prevents the blur that happens when screens are viewed from a small distance. iPhone and iPod Touch uses this high resolution together with the multi-touch technology = Retina Display.
