There are no medicinal prescriptions for anger, specifically. There are a number of pharmaceuticals that affect mood, and these are prescribed by physicians. Anger is an expression of the mind and not an "illness" of the body. There are two basic approaches to dealing with it. The first is so-called anger management. It is a stopgap measure that is designed and applied in an attempt to keep the affected individual from "going off" on others. Using the techniques helps a person avoid getting himself into the kind of trouble that often accompanies a loss of control. The other is therapy. It is in this extended process that the root causes of anger are pinpointed and addressed in the context of the present. The idea is that changes can be effected and a life transformation can occur. Medication may be used in conjunction with this therapy.

Your doctor will determine that before prescribing the drug. Here is one person's experience:

I have used Effexor XR for the past 4 years and it has really worked wonders for controlling my anger. I didn't start taking the med for anger I took it for controlling my depression. However, anger is often a consequence in any depression disorder. I will warn you that along with anger, other emotions are depressed as well. For instance, it is a lot harder to have feelings of happiness while you are taking the med. I choose to continue on my meds because feeling depressed and angry are worse than not being able to feel happy all the time. One other caveat, I have missed doses of the medication when I forgot to fill my prescription, and it is one horrible feeling. You can not stop taking this med cold turkey, it will cause all sorts of problems. You can find out what the side affects of Effexor XR are when you first start taking it and when you are getting weened off the med.

Forget all of these stupid baby answers, to control anger, you need to be on xanax. No need to sugar coat the answer. If you really think punching a pillow is going to help, you are an idiot.

What does anger innoculation mean?

I've never heard this term, but the words suggest the meaning. Inoculation in medicine is giving someone a tiny dose of a substance so that he will be immune to it. So anger inoculation either means exposing someone to anger so that he gets used to it, or exposing someone to a situation which would normally make him angry until he no longer gets angry in that situation.
