plants face the dilemma of taking up carbon dioxide while losing water vapor through their stomata. If this water loss remains unchecked, they can deplete their water reserve. This depletion can become catastrophic to the physiological functioning of the plant given that is the most essential solvent in which biochemical and growth processes occur. Based on Darwinian principles, it is presumed that selective adaptation has driven plants to acquire characteristics which enable them to grow more quickly without diminishing the probability of survival. If plants have not acquired the characteristics to withstand changes in water availability in their growth environment, plants may exacerbate their water shortage by not regulating the size of their stomatal apertures in an optimal manner and may fail to survive when water availability declines.
The opposite of stomatal conductance of course!
Stomata along the nearby guard cell or other cell are called stomatal appratus
The guard cell swell when water flows into them, causing stomatal pore to open.
cuticular transpiration occurs through the cuticle while the stomatal transpiration occurs through the stomata.
Stomatal conductance is the speed at which water evaporates from pores in a plant, and is directly related to relative size of the stomatal apature. Basically, the higher the evaporation rate, the higher the conductance of the leaf. It must also be noted that humidity, the hydration status of the plant and light intensity are also factors that affect stomatal conductance.
Dilemma is a noun.
Stomatal pore
A cell which help in the transport of water and stomatal transpiration in plants
The original dilemma opposed to the modern dilemma is the controversey of freedom vs. order whereas the modern dilemma is freedom vs. equality
An alliterative sentence for dilemma is "Danny dared Don to draw a dramatic dilemma."
The duration of The Dilemma is 1.97 hours.
I was perplexed by the dilemma.
