Best Answer

A synthetic protein is a polymer of amino acids liked by peptide bonds as same as present in normal living cells but this protein is synthesized in vitro chemical reaction normally by condensation reaction in which water molecule is released in each peptide bond synthesis.

This means that the protein is not made in the body, but in the lab - this is what makes it "synthetic".

What are the basic units for protein macromolecules?

Amino Acids are the basic monomer units of proteins. There are 20 kinds of amino acids that can be used in a protein. Proteins vary in the amount and sequence of these amino acids as well as their final folded structure.

What it a synthetic cell?

All cells can be called as synthetic cells because they synthsize differents nutrients like lipids from RER, protiens are synthesized by ribosomes. Mitochondria synthesizes ATP.Mitochondria also help in the building of certain parts of the blood, and hormones like testosterone and estrogen.Production of ribosomes (protein factories) in the nucleolus.Nucleus is a site for transcription in which messenger RNA (mRNA) are produced for protein synthesis.

How are polymers and synthetic polymers similar?

Synthetic polymers contain linkages which are present in natural polymers also , for example nylon (a synthetic polymer) contains pep-tide (also called amide) linkage and proteins also contain the same linkage .. considering that protein is a naturally occurring polymer Btw , not sure if this is the only similarity .. :D

Why is injecting a substance into the skin like injecting it into the lymphatic system?

When a protein is subcutaneously injected, it is the lymphatic system which will collect and remove that protein from the injected area. Therefore, the preferred method of delivering synthetic or naturally-formed proteins is a subcutaneous injection.
