There is more than one in the Baha'i Faith. On the northern slope of Mount Carmel in Haifa is the Shrine of The Bab; on the Plain of Sharon near the 'fortified city' of Akka (Acre) is the mansion of Bahji, the resting place of Baha'u'llah. Holy places of pilgrimage in Persia, origin of the Faith, have been destroyed by the Iranian government since that country's revolution in the 1970's. A link to photos of the Baha'i holy places in Israel is provided below.

The holiest places on earth for a Baha'i are in Israel: Mount Carmel, the Plain of Sharon, and Akka (Acre).

It shall blossom abundantly, and rejoice even with joy and singing: the glory of Lebanon shall be given unto it, the excellency of Carmel and Sharon, they shall see the glory of the LORD, and the excellency of our God. (Isaiah 35:2)

ANSWER 2:

The intended sites for Bahai pilgrimage included the House of Baha'u'llah in Baghdad, Iraq, and the House of the Bab in Shiraz, but this has been impossible for most of the twentieth century, so the shrine of the Bab on Mount Carmel and the shrine of Baha'u'llah near Akka (in Israel) are the sites which Baha'is today first think of as "holy places."

It is called a House of Worship and may take any form. There is one 'Mother Temple' on each continent that is open to people of all religions in which to offer praise to God.

It's also called a Mashriqu'l-Adhkar = rising-place of the remembrance of God). "Rising place" is a term that doesn't seem to have a good English equivalent, it's the term used for the point on the horizon where the sun or a star rises, on a particular day. So "place of appearance" would also be a good translation. Adhkar means rememberings: a dhikr is like a mantra, the plural is adhkar, where the dh is a z pronounced with a thick tongue as if your dentist has used anaesthetic.

When people talk about the House of Worship they usually mean the physical building, but the Mashriqu'l-Adhkar or Mashriq for short is also a meeting for worship (because that's the 'place of remembring God' too, and mystically it refers to one's own heart.
Bahá'ís can worship at many different places. "Special" places of worship are called Mashriqu'l-Adqar. They are sometimes referred to as "temples", but the proper name is "house of worship" or "Mashriqu'l-Adqar". When they finish building the one for South America, there will be one for every inhabited continent.

The holiest spot on earth to the Baha'i is Bahji, just outside of Akka (Biblical Achor or Acco), Israel. The second is Mount Carmel in Haifa, Israel. These two face each other across the Plain of Sharon. If you are familiar with The Bible's Isaiah, these might ring a bell.

A dedicated Bahai place of worship is called either

- a Bahai temple or

- a Bahai house of worship,or

- a Mashriqu'l-Adhkar, which means, the place where the remembrace of God rises (the English equivalent would be, oratory).

The Bahai House or Worship for a local or national Bahai community is called a Mashriqu'l-Adhkár a term that means literally, "Dawning-place of the praise of God." They are also called Bahai temples. The Bahai Faith also has holy places that are connected with historical events, such as the houses where Baha'u'llah lived, and the places where the Bab and Baha'u'llah are buried. These are called holy places or shrines. The most important are the House of the Bab in Shiraz, which was demolished by the Iranian government after the 1979 revolution; the House of Baha'u'llah in Baghdad which was confiscated by the authorities in 1922, and although courts have ruled that it belongs to the Bahais, it has never been returned. The Bab is buried in the shrine of the Bab, on Mount Carmel, Haifa, Israel; Baha'u'llah is buried in the shrine of Baha'u'llah, at Bahji, near Akka, in Israel.
