A quick look at the names of the sacred Jewish books implies that they constitute the O.T. and are the same thing.
However, there are some important differences. One difference is that the Jewish Bible (the Tanakh) is only in the original Hebrew. Any translation, whether done by Jews or Gentiles, is, at best, no more than an indication of what the Tanakh is saying. Many verses teach us a number of things.
Another difference is that the Christian Old Testament may contain a few books that are not in the Tanakh (such as the books of Judith and Sirach).

Catholic Answer

Catholicism is not a "religion of the book" the way, say, Protestantism is based on their version of the Bible. Catholicism is based directly on Our Blessed Lord, Jesus Christ, who established His Church on St. Peter. The Church is His Mystical Body (see St. Paul). As part of its preaching, the Church wrote the different books of the Bible in the first century after Our Blessed Lord ascended into Heaven and put together the New Testament, as we have it today, at the end of the fourth century, beginning of the fifth century. The Bible, which could be considered the holy book for Catholics is considered to be the word of God in the very words of God, as we consider God as its primary author. But, the Catholic religion is not based on the Bible, it is the other way around, the Bible is based on the Catholic religion.

The sacred writings of the Catholic Church are contained in the Bible, but unlike other sacred writings, they (well, the New Testament) was written more as preaching, it is not an encyclopedia of Christianity. The Church is based on the Bishops under the successor of St. Peter (read St. Matthew 16:17-19). Nevertheless, the Bible is guaranteed by God, and is inerrant.

The only "holy text" used in the Catholic Church is the Sacred Scriptures: the Holy Bible. The Catholic Church inherited the Old Testament from Judaism, and wrote the New Testament in the first century, At the end of the fourth century, the Sacred Scriptures were defined and pulled together in the Bible.

IV. The Canon of Scripture

120. It was by the apostolic Tradition that the church discerned which writings are to be included in the list of the sacred books. (Cf. Dei Verbum 8§ 3) This complete list is called the canon of Scripture. It includes 46 books for the Old Testament (45 if we count Jeremiah and Lamentations as one) and 27 for the New. (Cf. Denzinger-Schonmetzer, Enchiridion Symbolorum definitionum et declarationum de rebus fidei et morum {1965})

The Old Testament: Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, Deuteronomy, Joshua, Judges, Ruth, 1 and 2 Samuel, 1 and 2 Kings, 1 and 2 Chronicles, Ezra and Nehemiah, Tobit, Judith, Ester, 1 and 2 Maccabees, Job, Psalms, Proverbs, Ecclesiastes, the Song of Songs, Wisdom, Sirach (Ecclesiasticus), Isaiah, Jeremiah, Lamentations, Baruch, Ezekiel, Daniel, Hose4a, Joel, Amos, Obadiah, Jonah, Micah, Nahum, Habakkuk, Zephaniah, Haggai, Zechariah and Malachi.

The New Testament: the Gospels according to Matthew, Mark, Luke and John, the Acts of the Apostles, the Letters of St. Paul to the Romans, 1 and 2 Corinthians, Galatians, Ephesians, Philippians, Colossians, 1 and 2 Thessalonians, 1 and 2 Timothy, Titus, Philemon, the Letter to the Hebrews, the Letters of James, 1 and 2 Peter, 1, 2, and 3 John, and Jude, and Revelation (the Apocalypse).

I am Catholic and i would like to say that our main holy book is not the Bible. But for Catholics it is the Roman Missal. (Note: the Missal contains the prayers of the Mass, the Lectionary contains the two or three readings from the Bible. However, almost the entire Missal is consistent with the Bible. It is important for people to realize that the Eucharist - the Missal, was actually put together three centuries before the Bible was put together as such, at least the New Testament).

The book most revered by Catholics is the Holy Bible. The Catholic Bible contains 72 books, 45 in the Old Testament and 27 in the New Testament. The Bible details the fall and redemption of man and the Covenant God promised that humanity might be saved from spiritual death. The two Covenants are actually one, the Old being the precursor and preparation for the New, hence the division of the Bible with the Old being the history of revelation and Old preparatory Law that was ultimately fulfilled in Jesus Christ, Whose life and teaching is the focus of the New Testament.

Catholics believe the Holy Bible to be divinely inspired and inerrant in its doctrinal and moral precepts. The Bible is held up as the written Tradition of the Church which records God's revelation to man.
