The Gascony Show is an English-language radio chat show aired in the southwest of France and a flagship Sunday evening programme broadcast on Radio Coteaux in the Gascony region. The show is presented by its creator, Irishman John Slattery. Broadcasted live from studios in the center of Saint Blancard, a quaint village in the French department Gers, the Gascony Show is essentially a music-based programme that includes light-hearted banter and whimsical jokes by the host. The show runs interviews with regular and/or rotating guests, dealing with subjects of both local interest and of general interest to the expatriate community in the south-west of France. John Slattery, an engineer by training, is himself an expatriate who since the start of the millenium has made his nest in the shadow of the hilltop town of Castelnau Magnoac in the Hautes Pyrenees, a place he often refers of as "paradise on earth".
