THE PILLARS OF ISLAAM

The Pillars of Islaam are the foundations upon which it is built, and they are five. It is mentioned in what is related from Ibn 'Umar (radiyallaahu 'anhu), from the Prophet (sallallaahu 'alayhi WA sallam), that he said: "Islaam is built upon five, that you single out Allaah in worship [and in a narration regarding the five:], to testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad is His slave and messenger, and to establish prayer, and to give charity (zakaat), and to fast in the month of Ramadhaan, and to perform pilgrimage (hajj)." So a man said: 'Pilgrimage and fasting in Ramadhaan.' He said: 'No. fasting in Ramadhaan and pilgrimage. This is how I heard it from the Messenger of Allaah (sallallaahu 'alayhi WA sallam).' It is agreed upon, and this wording is from Muslim.

  1. As for testifying that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad (sallallaahu 'alayhi WA sallam) is His slave and messenger, then it is the unwavering belief affirmed by this testification, as if its definitiveness comes from this testification. Indeed this testification is only one pillar that contains a number of testifications because of the following reasons: either because the Messenger (sallallaahu 'alayhi WA sallam)conveyed from Allaah the Exalted, so testifying to his slavehood, and messengership is from the testification that none has the right to be worshipped except Allaah. Or it can be because these two testifications form the foundations for the correctness of actions and their acceptance. No action is correct or acceptable except if it is done with sincerity towards Allaah the Exalted, and in conformity to the Messenger (sallallaahu 'alayhi WA sallam). So the testification that none has the right to be worshipped except Allaah is confirmed by sincerity, and the testification that Muhammad is His slave and His messenger is confirmed by obedience. From the fruits of this great testification is the liberation of the heart and soul from being enslaved by the creation, and from the following of other than the messengers.

  2. As for establishing the prayer, then it is to worship Allaah by doing it, and to be steadfast and complete in its time and place. (Early before sunrise, Early Afternoon, Late Afternoon, BEfore Sunset, and Late Night). One faces in the direction of the Kaa'ba, no matter where you may be on this earth. From its fruits is the relaxation of the heart, and the coolness of the eye, and the driving away of indecency and evil.
  3. As for charity (zakaat), then it is to worship Allaah the Exalted by spending, if able, 2.5% of one's wealth to the poor, needy, and destitute. One can also pay more if they wish, but the obligation is this percentage. This is done once a year and it's purpose is to purify ones wealth by learning to share with and help the poor. From its fruits is that it purifies the soul from despicability and greed, and it fulfills the need of Islaamand the Muslims.
  4. As for fasting in Ramadhaan, then it is to worship Allaah the Exalted by staying away from eating during the days of Ramadhaan. It is generally 29 days and starts when the new moon is sighted for the month, and ends when the new moon is sighted for the following month. If it happens that one cannot see the moon at the end of the 29th day, then they complete the 30th day, so maximum days to fast in Ramadhan is 30. From its fruits is the taming of the soul by leaving the things it loves for the pleasure of Allaah the Mighty and Majestic.
  5. As for pilgrimage to the House, then it is to worship Allaah the Exalted by going to the Sacred House to establish the rites of pilgrimage. From its pillars is the taming of the soul related to a struggle in ones wealth and body in obedience to Allaah the Exalted. Consequently, pilgrimage is a type of jihaad(struggle) in the Path of Allaah the Exalted.. The exception is for the one who is not able to perform the hajj due to health reasons or lack of finances.

Some Important Benefits to Terminology in This Explanation:

Allah - The Name Chosen by Allah for Himself in the Noble Qur'an. It has no masculine, nor feminine, nor can it be related to any of the creation and for these purposes, it is a very unique name. Christian Arabs, call "The Father" Allah. Jesus called God "Allaha" in Aramaic. So this name is distinctive and unique and no other name used for God in another language can claim the same. (Ex. In English we say God, but when a Christian hears this, they automatically associate with this word "human being, Jesus, blond hair, blue eyes, white man hanging on on the cross. When a Hindu hears it, they automatically associate to it, all the sub-gods of many types along with the images of how they look, et.... However with the word "Allah" one cannot do this. We say Allah is the Creator, we do not associate anything from His Creation to Him as he is Unique and nothing is Equal to Him. We will know and see him on the Day of Judgement.

Allah's Description - Chapter Al Ikhlas (The Sincerity, Verses 1-4)

1 - "Say He is Allah, the ONE.

2 - Allah, The Most Perfect! (free from imperfections).

3 - He begets not, nor is He begotten (The Self Sustaining).

4 - And NOTHING, is equal unto Him! (He is Unique and Unlike His Creation)."

Islam - The Arabic word for "Submission to the Will of the Creator." To use your free will to CHOOSE to submit it to the will of the Creator. If my desire is to do an evil act, but refrain from it due to knowing that this is not the will of my creator, then this is the actual practicing of Islam."

Muslim - When One submits his/her will to the will of the Creator, then they are a "MU-Islam = Muslim, as "MU" is a prefix in Arabic for the one doing the certain action. Another example is "Athan (The Call to Prayer), the one calling it is considered the "Mu'atthan" (The One Calling people to Prayer).

Muhammad (Peace and Blessings be Upon him) was only a man, not god, not god-incarnate, or anything. He was the best from amongst God's Creation that submitted to His Will, and a Messenger sent NOT ONLY to Muslims, but to all Mankind. He was known by his enemies as "Al-Amin" The Trustworthy. He was sent as a Mercy to Mankind to lead them out of polythiesm (associating partners to the Creator), and into Belief, (To single out the Creator in Worship, Lordship, Names & Attributes.) He is the finality of the Prophets and Messengers from a long line starting from Adam and ending with Muhammad. He was a from the direct lineage of Abraham (Peace be Upon him) via his son Ishmael (peace be upon him), the elder son of Abraham and brother of Isaac (Peace be upon him). All the Messengers sent to man from the beginning of time came with the same message and that was to "abandon worshipping false gods associated with Allah and to worship Him Alone, and to obey the commands, teachings, and rulings, of the Messengers who were guided by the Creator.

Tawheed (Oneness of Allah) - The belief in the Oness of Allah in his Lordship, His Names & Attributes, and lastly but most importantly, in His Worship. This is the very thing that separates Islam as a monotheistic religion from all other religions of the world that believes in "a" god according to their doctrines or principles of belief/creed.

Tawhid has 3 categories.

a) The Oneness in His Lordship - To believe that the one who is in control of our life, our death, our sustenance, our provisions, our good and bad outcomes, et... is the Lord of the Heavens and Earth. (For Muslims this is Allah, for Christians this is "The Father", for Hindu's it is Brahma, for Jews it is Yaweh or Elohim, for the Ancient Greeks it was "Zeus" et.. (Note - This category does not differentiate any religion from the other, as they all share the same concept.)

b) The Oneness in His Names and Attributes - To believe that the Lord whom you believe in that is in charge of all the qualities above, has unique qualities that belong only to him like he is the Most Merciful, the Most Just, the Most Kind, the Omnipresent, et... (Note - This category, also, does not differentiate any religion from the other, as they all claim that their lord holds these qualities.)

c) The Oneness in His Worship - To single out worship ONLY for Allah. It is in this category that monotheism distinct itself from polytheism, because it is ONLY Islam that places none as intermediaries or intercessors between them and this Lord that they associate all these names and qualities to. EVERY OTHER RELIGION, places something between them and their Lord as a means of intercession. (ex. Christians with Jesus or the Holy Spirit as a means to get closer to the Father so we may find them saying prayer "Oh Father in heaven, thank you for this food, IN JESUS' name we pray." Or they may say the only way to the Father is through Jesus. The Hindu's will say we believe in One God, but we use the sub-gods as a means or extension to the main God. The same with Ancient Greeks and their various gods were used as a means to get to Zeus, et...)

So Islam is the Only religion in the world, that makes the concept of worship One only with Allah the Creator, and uses nothing in between according to its doctrines.

So it is important to note that all people who do this may claim "We do not worship these things, we only use them as a means to the Creator/God/The Father, et...." All intercession used as a means to get to the main God/Lord/Father/Creator, et... is the same. There is no distinction between them. It does not matter if one uses a righteous human being who has passed away, a pious saint, an angel, or objects such as a stone, a tree, a bone, fire, the stars, et.... as a means to get closer to the creator. They are all in violation of Gods right to be worshiped Alone and considered polytheism or idolatry since we are giving qualities that belong ONLY to God to the creatures that He has created.

============================================================

Islam is the word came from "salm" which means submission it is driven from Arabic Islam says that believe Allah believe his prophets (there are one lack twenty thousand prophets sent by Allah)believe Allah's all books (there are four books by name we know)and obey all of Allah's rules by understanding quran and reading books of Sahi Hadith and applying them on himself.

before Islam all of the Arabs were in darkness of illiteracy (jahalat ka andhera) and did all kinds of sins so , for their betterment (to bring them hadayat) , Allah sent prophets and with them the message of Islam until a final prophet Hazrat Mohammad P.B.U.H came with the eternal and most definite religion Islam summoned up in the Quran.

What is the fastest growning religion in the world?

It depends entirely on how the question is read. If the question is asking what is the largest religion that is still growing, the answer would be Christianity since there are more and more Christians born and converted every day than convert out or die. If the question is asking what religion is growing by the largest numbers of new followers (both births and converts), then the answer would be Islam, since the population growth in Muslim-majority countries has made Islam the religion with the most new adherents daily. If the question is asking what religion has the greatest percentage of growth, then this would be a contest between a number of very small religions which have high percentage increases, but low current population counts, such as Baha'i or Jehovah's Witnesses. Although these cannot match the numerical growth of Christianity or Islam, the thousands of converts and newborns have a much higher relative to the <20 million adherents to the religion.
