There is no particular answer to this question. First of all there are several variables to consider. First is location. If someone lives in Alaska, the electric biill is going to be different than someone who lives in Arizona. The next variable is the temperature you prefer. Some people are more warmblooded than other people. The next factor is if you have gas or electric utilities or both. These are just a few variables to consider.

I just moved away from central FL (Melbourne area) after living there for 22 years. If the apartment is well insulated (hard to tell till after you start living there) and has an a/c with energy rating of 14 or higher, then your electric bill should average about $120 a month and be around a high of $150 from May through October. While cooling your apartment (and I'm talking keeping the thermostat about 77 deg F) will be the majority of your electricity consumption, if you use LOTS of hot water and do LOTS of cooking (the vast majority of residences in FL do NOT have natural gas at all) then the electric bill will be higher. I lived in a 3 bed / 2 bath 1300 sq ft (under a/c) wood frame house from 1987 to 2002 that was well insulated and had a new a/c with a 14 ER, and the electric bill was about $20 per month higher than what I figure for a 2 bed apartment. In 2002 I married a woman who had a 2 bed / 2 bath 1100 sq ft (under a/c) double-wide mobile home (permanently installed on the lot she owned) and moved-in with her. That double-wide had mediocre insulation and a new a/c with a 14 ER. She took long hot showers, but we did not cook much. The electric bill ranged from $135 in FEB to $190 MAY - SEP, roughly averaging $160 per month (the bill-leveling program to spread electric cost evenly over the year kept the bill within a few dollars of $160).
