Question exists in regards to the possible health benefits of circumcision. A study published in 2006 indicated that circumcised males have a slightly lower risk of becoming infected with HIV as compared with uncircumcised males. this study has however been discounted after it was found that as a result of the study thousands of men were circumcised in an effort to allay the spread of HIV AIDS. it was found that the spread continued unabated and was quicker among those that were circumcised then among those that remained genitally intact. The most common reasons for infant circumcision in the United States is the perception that it makes the penis easier to clean and so that the boys penis will look like his fathers. However, studies have demonstrated that urinary tract infections in men occur at the same rates in both circumcised and uncircumcised males. Any cleanliness that is facilitated by circumcision has no medical benefit.

The benefits of circumcision it turn out are perceived and simply not based in any real science. Add to this the very real risks, while Circumcision is not a major surgery, it does have as with any surgery, some major risks. The most common problems are infection, pain, and bleeding after the surgery. Other common complications after circumcision include decreased penile sensitivity and decreased pleasure during sex. Some men are dissatisfied with the appearance of their penises after circumcisions, and others complain that too much skin was removed, making masturbation difficult. Most of these complications are minor, but every year there are reports of major complications following circumcision. These rare complications include accidental damage or dis-figuration to the penis. Also rare, multiple deaths occur every year following circumcision due to complications from anesthesia and bleeding. In the case of infant circumcision there also seem to be very real stress related conditions that can follow them into latter life, as well as interfere with mother bonding and other coping conditions such as dealing with pain.

The best way to proceed with weighing the benefits and risks of circumcision is to do some research on your own first, then make an appointment to discuss the procedure at length with your doctor.

Circumcision has no known medical benefits, and no major medical association recommends routine circumcision of infant boys. Circumcision caries with it serious risks of adverse outcomes including prolonged bleeding and infection. Circumcision also removes a normal part of the male genitals that functions to protect the delicate head of the penis. Removal of the foreskin can cause decreased sensitivity of the penis and pleasure during sexual intercourse. For these reasons most physicians recommend against circumcision. An uncircumcised penis requires no care until the boy can retract the foreskin, usually by age 3. He should simply wash the head of the penis with soap and water during his regular bath or shower just like any other part of the body. If you wish to have your newborn circumcised without anesthesia, it will cost $400-$500 (U.S. dollars). The cost depends on where you live. Infant circumcision is not covered by national health care in places like the United Kingdom and Canada. Infant circumsion is also not covered by most health insurances in the United States. While most infant circumcisions do not have serious complications, there are risks to the procedure, including pain, bleeding, and infection. Every year in the United States, there are a substantial numbers of deaths due to infant circumcision, most of which result from infection. There are also a significant number of irreversible injuries to the penis that occur during circumcision each year. Circumcision is far less common now in the United States than it once was. During the 1970s and 1980, around 80% of male infants were circumcised in the United States. A study conducted in the United States from 2005-2007 found that circumcision rates had fallen to below 40% in most of the United States. In the western United States, fewer than 25% of infant males were circumcised in 2005-2007.

There are none, circumsicion is a religious rite and no more.

Dr. Spock said that it is best to keep the foreskin.

"I am in favor of leaving the penis alone. Pediatric opinion is swinging away from routine circumcision as unnecessary and at least mildly dangerous. I also believe that there is a potential danger of emotional harm resulting from the operation. Parents should insist on convincing reasons for circumcision and there are no convincing reasons that I know of (as cited in Wallerstein, 1980)."

There are none, as a mater of fact there are considerable disadvantages, the extent of which depends on at what age it is done. For example if it is done during infancy the extreme pain has the effect of rewiring the brain, Trauma can have a bad effect on the mental process of a child that age. Putting that aside however some infants have been known to bleed to death as a result. Or the experience of having urine and faeces on an open wound should also be an experience many infants are familiar with. Once thing have healed When an infant is born the glans of his penis is still fused to the inner lining of the foreskin (very much like the way the fingernail is attached to the finger) it has to be literally torn lose from the glans damaging the mucosal surface of the glans. This is just the beginning of the damage, once the wounding has healed, Hopefully without complications, and there are often complications, the glans find themselves without any protection and immediately dry out and start to lose sensitivity as a result of its surface thickening in a bid to protect itself, this eventually can lead to sexual dysfunction. The glans become so insensitive that a man has to keep having sex for an inordinately long time too reach orgasm, This problem is made worse as a result of the fore kin being a erogenous zone in its own right. The lack of a foreskin also makes sex les pleasant for the woman

A cording to medical Authority throughout the world there are no benefits in being circumcised. Circumcision was started as a religious rite and was adopted In English speaking country on Health grounds during the Victorian Era. it was done to discourage boys from masturbating which at the time was thought of as sinfull bad for health a cause of epilepsy and insanity. as this reasoning became discredited other medical conditions were credited to the foreskin, however there is no evidence that circumcision is beneficial to health. on the contrary there is much evidence that it is not, For more info on this subject go to the related link below

The American Academy of Pediatrics has advised that the benefits of circumcision are not significant enough to recommed it as a routine procedure?

Well they're right. There are no reasons except forimediate medical problems and religious ones to perform circumcisions. I live in Sweden and here in Europe it's only done for those reasons. I've heard people say it's hard to clean but that is not true. Not harder then for us women. The foreskin is there for a reason which is to protect. It's not done as a routine anywhere in this world.
