Short of Liposuction there's no way to target weight loss. It's like trying to drain only one end of a pool.

You'll have to settle for the ol'fashioned approach of eating less/healthier, and exercising more.

And you have to start at the eating.

With the high calorie foodstuffs that we have oh so available these days, it's just not possible to train hard enough to compensate if you're overeating.

One cupcake outside your "allowance" can take one hour of mid-intensity exercise to use up. And then you're just back to square one for that day.

When you have your eating under control, it's not really that important what exercise you do - the important bit is how hard you hit it, and for how long.

What you want is an exercise - any exercise - that gives you a decent raise in heart rate for a longer period of time. There's a strong connection between heart rate and number of calories used up.

Lety's say that a flat out sprint would kick your heart rate up with 100 beats/minute, but you're only able to sustain it of for a minute - that's only 100 added beats, not many calories used.

So maybe take a brisk walk, or jog instead. Settle for a 50 beat raise, but keep it up for 30 minutes. That's 50 x 30 = 1500, a lot more calories being used.

Specific exercises like sit-ups and crunches can help firm up the muscles, which will help with the overall look, but won't really do anything for the local fatty layer.

Answer

You will need to do any exercises that target the abdominal muscles. Lifting weights three times a week was found to significantly lower belly fat, as well as fat throughout the rest of the body. Another study found that 30 minutes a day of intense workout burned belly fat.

Cardio exercises have been known to increase weight loss in problem areas, but so do crunches and sit-ups, as well as various other abdominal activities.

Some good exercises for belly fat weight loss are sit ups, planks and crunches. However fat loss is attributed not solely to muscular development; for maximum effects, you must do cardiovascular exercises like running and skipping to lose fat.

First and fore most I would recommend a healthy diet. Changing the way you eat has a lot to do with your way. You need a healthy eating habit before exercise. Crunches are good to start with. I would also try laying flat on the floor, on your back and lift you legs only off of the floor about a foot up into the air and repeat this over and over until you feel the burning. Do this everyday, while still maintaining a healthy diet, drink lots of water, swimming is great exercise, also walking.

Well you must start somewhere. The best exercise for fat loss which I have experienced is "sprint." I have tried jogging, walking, Weightlifting but in the end I found short sprints to be the most effective exercise to build up the muscles.

About nutrition and diet, You must concentrate on taking more proteins but do not forget to take sufficient amount of carbs, vitamins, and minerals too. Proteins are essential for building up your ab muscles.

Planks and crunches also work on building up the muscles. But if you have mission critical targets to loss fat I believe sprints have no other comparison.

For belly fat loss, sit ups, touch toes and bicycling. All of this while drinking at least 6 litres of water daily. I've personally tried this and it works.
