well the fastest way to heal a broken bone is the only way . the blood around the break hardens and covers the brocken ends of bone, like a scab that forms on your skin when you cut yourself . minerals and bone repairing tissues in the blood and bone start to work . the ends of the bone become soft . Then new bone , called callus , starts to grow from the broken ends . the callus grows between the broken ends of bone and starts to harden .whenit is completely hard , the bone is back to normal ! After the age of 25yrs(approx)bones take longer to heal .You can help it along by eating calcium rich foods like milk or fish.

If it's broken, it's broken. Keep your cast on and follow the doctor's advice. Getting enough calcium probably wouldn't hurt. Preventing fractures can be accomplished by increasing bone density. Regular exercise, both resistance and cardivascular exercise involving impact can improve bone density. Consuming a proper diet is also helpful.

Get the bone set properly, get the pieces immobilized and leave it alone. Don't put pressure on the break and don't try to make the bone do any work. Getting sufficient calcium (you can eat dairy products, drink milk, eat certain vegetables like broccoli and kale, or take supplements) and having a steady supply of protein (chicken, pork, beef, turkey, fish, beans all work) can also help.
