I was told to keep my pH at 8.0 and maintain 3.0 for free cholrine to keep my vinyl liner from getting the "vinyl plague" (mold bleeding through the liner). I just recently have this problem and I'm starting to do this and the brown stains are supposed to disappear.

I had a vinyl mold problem in my in-ground pool. I too was told to remove the liner and treat the dirt. As it turns out, we had a automatic cover installed. Keeping the pool covered when not in use made the mold go away. I assume it needs a certain amount of sunlight to prosper.

If possible remove affected layer, (mulch, grass clippings, etc.). Water in the early a.m. Do not over-water. The top of the soil should dry out between waterings. Some fungi are hampered by sprinkling with organic cinnamon.

The mold can be removed with bleach and water. There's directions on the bleach bottle telling you how much bleach to use.

If you are not familiar with bleach= use gloves and the windows need to be put up.

When water gets into assured areas of a home through a natural disaster like a flood, Plumbing leak, or simple condensation from moist environments, it provides a breeding ground for mold to grow in your residence. Water damage mold is a very common happening in homes where water has leaked or where dampness is allowed to remain on surfaces. If you stop cleaning your shower for a while, mold will begin to grow and spread all the way through the shower.

While most molds are comparatively harmless to most people, some molds are more toxic than other molds. Researchers have yet to determine decisively that all molds are toxic. It is identified that people who live in houses or spaces infected with mold tend to suffer more health tribulations. It seems that, some folks are just more probable to be affected by mold than others.
