To get rid of mustard algae in a Chlorine pool, shock is not the only componet to eliminate it. A copper-based algaecide must be used. To get rid of mustard algae in a Baquac…il pool, the best route to go would be Flocculant and then chemically cleaning the filter where it traps itself. If you use a copper algaecide, be sure to use a chellating agent like Natural Chemistry's MetalFree afterwards. Another alternative is to use Yellow Out, which works with chlorine shock to kill mustard algae without scrubbing.

Answer That is not an easy answer but here goes! Baqualcil is not compatible with chlorine in any way shape or form so the best thing to do if you biguinide level …is above 30ppm is to ride it down let if go until the level is 30ppm or lower. Take you pool water to a pool store and have it professionally analyzed. Once you are at that point you want to shock the pool with 3 pounds of monopersulfate per 10,000 gallons of pool water 3 days in a row. Then have the water check again at the pool store to make sure your level is below 10ppm. Once this is done add 3 pounds of calcium hypochlorite per 10,000 gallons of pool water. Make sure the shock is at least 65% available chlorine or higher. The pool will turn green do no panic! Next, if you have a sand filter, change the sand in the filter. If you have a DE filter use a chemical cleaner that is designed to clean biquinide filters, if you have a cartridge filter do the same as a DE filter. Now it is time to start using chlorine tablets. Keep in mind that every time you shock the pool for the next 2-3 times the pool will turn a light green then go to blue overnight this will slow go away over time.

Our kids have sensitive skin (eczema and such), so we switched to Baquacil. We love it. It's easy to use and test. No alergies from it. fyi...If you switch from a chlori…ne pool to baquacil, you have to replace the sand in your pump..or it will gum up.
Just wait for it to go away it shouldn't take too long. Why do you want to reduce the chlorine in your pool? If your have readings of 5 to 10 ppm you are not over …chlorinating the pool. Waiting a day or 2 is usually the answer. If your readings are in the 20 ppm range then you may want to consider thinking of reducing chlorine. It could vary well be that your test kit or test strips are out of date or old or that you may have other factors that are giving your false readings. Get a new test kit or take a sample of the pool water to a trusted pool store for a confirmation of your readings. Using a produce to reduce your chlorine content can and will screw up a perfectly good pool sometimes turning the pool a nice shade of green ( and it won't be algae) of which you will not be able to remove through filtration. Learn and understand how to care for your pool the proper way. Recheck your other chemical readings for accuracy. Old test kits and solutions will get you heading in the wrong direction with the results you receive from them. Bad news. Hire a professional for a month or so to get you on the right track. k
So long as a pool chlorinator is the right size for the pool you are using most of them these days are much of a muchness. However After having seen the magnablu system …By Poolrite in action for a couple of months I would definitely recommend it as the best system I have seen. The difference with this system is that it uses Magnesium and potassium chloride instead of sodium chloride.
Swimming pool chlorine, while annoying, is not dangerous and all you need to do is wait and your eyes will recover. However, you may not want to swim again without wearing a d…ivers mask (or swimming goggles) to protect your eyes. However, if your eyes are really bad after swimming, the pool people may have made a mistake with the chlorine pool dose. As long as the water is clear and the Free Chlorine is normal I know of no adverse effects. Our dogs swim all the time. They love it. We have a Lab, a Golden, a Cocker a…nd a stray.
chlorine itself has very little effect on the plaster coating that is used in most pools, if your coating is of a color , chlorine added directly to a spot may cause some disc…oloration , but unlikely, the pH or alkalinity of the water is of much more concern than the chlorine when it comes to a gunite pool coating.
Chlorine is bleach and it could bleach out your clothes if concentration is high.
You can ask a pool specialist about some non-chlorine pool-safe chemical. We got it, too.
