In The Bible, not all numbers have a symbolic meaning.

Even those numbers that do have a symbolic meaning, do not necessarily have a symbolic meaning every time the number is used.

The number 9 does not seem to have a symbolic meaning; but seems always to be a literal number.

The Bible is a book of history and prophecy - - thus it does not need to be a complicated book of numerology, as if every number has a deeper meaning.

Answer 1

Various numbers used in the Bible seem to have symbolic meanings, i.e. 7 & 4, but nine does not appear to be one of them.

Answer 2

Some have suggested that it is the number of finality or judgment and that the judgment is committed unto Jesus as "the Son of man" (John 5:27; Acts 17:31). It marks the completeness, the end and issue of all things as to man - the judgment of man and all his works. It is a factor of 666, which is 9x74. The Hebrew gematria of the word "Dan," which means a judge, is 54 (9x6)."th orgh mou" (tee orgee mou), my wrath = 999 (Hebrews 3:11).

Answer 3

Nine means life (nonbiblical).

Answer 4

Although not found in the Bible, "being on Cloud 9" is a special feeling of being in heaven/the heavens. Cats have 9 lives and dogs are K-9s. Basebol has 9 innings, 9 players on a team, and 9 strikes in three strikeouts.

Answer 5

Using Simple674 English774 Gematria874 with 'A-B-C becomes 1-2-3'74, I=9, ha=9, GB=9, Ed=9, ah=9.

There is an interesting article on 'the bible wheel' re number 9. Says there are 9 fruits of the spirit and 9 is mentioned as the hour of prayer in the New Testament. It talks of 9 being a number of 'finality' because it is the last and largest digit and because it is just before 10-so a sense of 'nearly there'. In other articles i have read of the fact that nine is 3x3 and 3 is very significant in the bible-(number of Trinity)

For me this year is my 'year of ENTRANCE'-i.e into the promised land-its time!!! i also believe for some this will be the year of making progress in hard places-i think the credit crunch and other personal crunches will be a blessing for some- I could go on but I'll stop there! Big kisses XXX

Genesis 5:8 And all the days of Seth were nine hundred and twelve years: and he died. Genesis 5:11 And all the days of Enos were nine hundred and five years: and he died. Genesis 5:20 And all the days of Jared were nine hundred sixty and two years: and he died. Genesis 5:27 And all the days of Methuselah were nine hundred sixty and nine years: and he died. Genesis 9:29 And all the days of Noah were nine hundred and fifty years: and he died.

Numerology has been cited as a support by many religious groups. It usually falls into coincidence or manipulation. The reason is: there is know person ever live one day with God. II Peter 3:8 But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.

Genesis 5:5 And all the days that Adam lived were nine hundred and thirty years: and he died.

Genesis 5:8 And all the days of Seth were nine hundred and twelve years: and he died.

Genesis 5:11 And all the days of Enos were nine hundred and five years: and he died.

Genesis 5:14 And all the days of Cainan were nine hundred and ten years: and he died.

Genesis 5:20 And all the days of Jared were nine hundred sixty and two years: and he died.

Genesis 5:27 And all the days of Methuselah were nine hundred sixty and nine years: and he died.

But there is one Spirit will; Revelation 20:1 And I saw an angel come down from heaven, having the key of the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand. Revelation 20:2 And he laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, which is the Devil, and Satan, and bound him a thousand years, Revelation 20:3 And cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal upon him, that he should deceive the nations no more, till the thousand years should be fulfilled: and after that he must be loosed a little season.
