Facts:

The Army is the largest and the strongest. The US Army trains many branches of the Military. Army trains the Marines in Artillery, HALO school, Ranger school (which is required to be a Recon Ranger in the Marines), etc..

Opinion:

"The Marine Corps is the most powerful and the strongest branch of the military. The training that the recruits endure during their 3 month boot camp or basic is more intense than all the other branches. For starters the Marines Basic is 3 months long, the Army's is 9 weeks long, the Navy is also 9 weeks long, and the Air Force is 6 weeks long. The PFT (physical fitness test) fir the Marines is with a 3 mile run the Army has a 2 mile run and the Navy & Air Force both have a 1.5 mile run."--this was the last answer, but I think that I may need to clarify slightly. If your question is in regards to numbers, than the Army for sure. If it is in regards to the highest technology, that is very hard t say--the Air Force and Navy have a lot of cool stuff, but so does the Army. If your question is about the individual soldier, then I would have to agree with the above answer--Marines all the way. This question is really hard to answer, because you were not really specific about it. ButI hope this clarifies things up for you.

Answer:It is only a matter of opinion which branch is tougher than the others, not because the of length of Basic Training or Boot Camp. What exercises you have to do on the Physical Fitness Test hold no impact on the toughness of a specific branch. I will say that the Marine Corps is by far more disciplined than any other branch, but in my opinion that is based upon their brain washing and single minded thought process, where all other branches allow individuals to think individually. What is easy for one person is hard for another, the only differences in Army Basic and Marine Corps Boot Camp is the swimming portion (being that the Marine Corps falls under the Department of the Navy and will most likely be stationed at some point on a Navy ship) and that each person attends and is expected to complete Infantry school (just in case you fail the job training the Marine Corps chooses for you you can always be an Infantryman). From there it is only a matter of opinion.

Another thought is that some if not most Marine Corps job training is conducted at either an Army Base or with Army Soldiers. Again it is only a matter of opinion and there is no true test or competition that has ever taken place to determine who is tougher, stronger, smarter we are all Americans who stood up and answered the call to serve the greatest nation in the world when so many others were to afraid to do so.
