A tongue-in-cheek answer to a tongue-in-cheek question: Learning by osmosis.
Possibly a ruptured drum. If you blow your nose & you can feel it in either of your ears, that is confirmation.
if you are referring to horses, it is not called a "cheek strap". It is called a "cheek piece". A cheek piece is part of the bridle. When on a horse, it is along the side of a horses face, basically where the horses cheek is (from the ears to the muzzle). It is joined to the Bit (in the horses mouth) and the head piece which is the part of the bridle that is at the top of the horses head, by the poll (behind its ears). I hope this was helpful information.
It represents a slap more than a touch, I for got my confirmation but I think the "Slap" is to signify that you have become a soldier of christ.Since the reform of the Rite of Confirmation in 1971, this is no longer done. In the older rite, the bishop would strike each candidate on the cheek, symbolizing that the Christian is now a soldier for Christ and must endure suffering and the persecution that comes from conflict with the world. This was supposed to be done gently, although I'm sure there are many parents and grandparents among us who may recall a rather robust reminder by the bishop of the trials of the Catholic life!
A confirmation.
