∙ 12y agoPlatelets. It is the clotting mechanism. Our body clots in response to injuries for examle. Otherwise we would bleed everywhere. Even internally!! If you are mildly low on platelets eat jello as least a couole times a day. If really low on platelets, you need to find the reason why such as an autoimmune disorder, bleeding disorders. Talk to your doctor on how low you are. I don't know your numbers but, the normal is around 150,000 per microliter.
