Platelets. It is the clotting mechanism. Our body clots in response to injuries for examle. Otherwise we would bleed everywhere. Even internally!! If you are mildly low on platelets eat jello as least a couole times a day. If really low on platelets, you need to find the reason why such as an autoimmune disorder, bleeding disorders. Talk to your doctor on how low you are. I don't know your numbers but, the normal is around 150,000 per microliter.
