a machete I know a lot of Army special-ops men, and in this case Army SF and Navy SEALs are probably a lot alike. It really doesn't matter what the current standard issue knife is, because no one is carrying it. A lot of them like Ka-Bars, there are a lot of Gerber BMF knives in the force, some guys like Randalls... They like single-edge knives that are about 7" long in case they need to kill someone with one, but killing is a very small part of what you do with a combat knife. More important is how the knife feels in the hand, and how easy it is to sharpen. i have a us navy knife my grandfather gave me. on the scabard it has U.S.N. MK2.the blade is 6 and one half inches long.the handle is 5 inches.it is single blade curved up at the end exactly like a bowey knife. it will hold a razor sharp blade. it is one deadly knife.the top of the blade is three sixteenths thick.

Usually they are issued fixed blades.

SOG claims that their "Navy SEAL knife" and "SEAL pup" knives are used by the SEALs, but most military branches are issued KA-BAR's. Most soldiers, however, end up upgrading.

For the Guns they use MK23, M11, M4A1, SOPMOD, M14, M82A1, Barret MK11, MP5, M60E3, M249 (SAW), M4 Super 90 shotgun, M136, AT4 Light Anti-Tank Rocket, M224 Mortars, M203 Grenafe Launcher,

Also face mask, fins (very important) life vest (inflatable) and knife.

Hence the most marvelous of titles, Naked Warrior.

Knives are not standard issue in the 75th Ranger Regiment. Many Rangers, including myself, purchase a wide variety of knives for our needs. Benchmade, Gerber, and CRKT are all quality knives which will do anything you need. If there WAS a standard-issue knife in the Rangers, it would probably be the Leatherman tool. Combat soldiers LOVE Leathermans, and Rangers are no exception. No, they don't look scary and you can't really kill someone with one, but the number of people who need killed with knives pale next to the number of generators you need to fix, cases of MREs you need to open, rifle bolts you have to scrape crud off, M-16 magazines you need to tear down...the man who invented the Leatherman tool needs to be taken to Washington and given a really high medal.

Standard issue camoflage for US Soldiers came in the form of a "net" for their steel helmets, during WWII. Only US Marines were issued camoflage steel helmet covers as standard issue; during WWII. What is a knuckle knife?

There was a trench knife issued to US Army troops that was a knife that had a "Brass Knuckles" handle. Brass Knuckles is a brass "ring" that you slip over your hand, each finger going into a loop. This is used for hand-to-hand fighting. The knife had this same construction as part of the handle/grip. I'm not sure if this was an official Army issue. The Army preferred the soldier carry a bayonet that would fit onto the rifle. This brass knuckle trench knife couldnot do this.
