As I understand...
Many languages seemed to have a common root language and because of human migration patterns it was surmised it was a white race of people referred to as Aryian. Aryian refers to one of the languages(Iran) that had many these common root words.

Because of Hitlers use of the term Aryian and his interpretation and ideology that supported German conquest, the term Aryian now has racist overtones.
