dwarf planets are mini celestial bodies that orbit around the sun but are too small to be classed as a real planet pluto was recently demoted from 'planet' to 'dwarf planet'
A dwarf planet is one of the smallest "planets" in our solar system. They aren't classed as proper planets. They must be roughly spherical and orbit the Sun. (They aren't moons.)
However, they don't "dominate" their region of space like an "official" planet.
Dawf planet is a smaller planet compared to the earth and jupiter
Thy are composed of rock and ice.
A Planet has to be three things;
- Approximately spherical, so it has to be massive enough to `pull` itself into a spherical shape.
- It has to orbit the sun directly (unlike a moon that is in orbit around a planet, which is then in turn in orbit around the sun).
- It has to be the main object at that orbital distance from the sun, it has to be the dominant body at that distance, easily outweighing everything else.
A Dwarf Planet only has to fulfill the first two, approximately spherical in shape and in a direct orbit around the sun. It will not have cleared its orbit though.
It means the planet has not made an orbit yet so that's why they call it that
A celestial body resembling a small planet but lacking certain technical criteria that are required for it to be classed as such.

---- Saturn is a planet, the only dwarf planet is pluto. ---- It's a gas giant!
The position of the planets are, in order from the Sun: Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Ceres [dwarf planet], Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, Pluto [dwarf planet], Haumea [dwarf planet], Makemake [dwarf planet] and Eris [dwarf planet].

The planet Pluto has the nickname the dwarf planet
On August 24, 2006, the International Astronomical Union redefined the word "planet" and added the category "dwarf planet". End result: Pluto was "demoted" to the status of dwarf planet.
