A map projection simply is a representation of the round, 3D surface of the earth onto a flat, 2D map. There are different map projections such as Mercator and Robinson each of which have advantages and disadvantages.
The appropriate projection for a map depends on the scale of the map and the purposes for which it will be used. For example, a Mercator projection has straight rhumb lines and is therefore excellent for navigation, because compass courses are easy to determine, but there is distortion near the poles.
a map prjection is a way to represent the earths curved suface on the flat suface of a map. a good globe can be an accurate representation of the earth!
The map projection that Cuba uses is equirectangular projection. It shows the equidistant or constant spacing map representation of the country.
The Robinson projection shows the entire world map at once.
Polar Area
A map projection that is used for sea travel includes the gnomonic projection. This was most often used to find the shortest routes between points on a sphere.
Goode's Interrupted Projection
its the way the map looks like it can be cut and made into different pictures
A Winkle Tribal map projection is a modified azimuthal map projection. This is one of three projection.
a map projection is a map that has lots of different angles.
a map projection is a map that has lots of different angles.
map projection is the beast
True. The projection note for any map sheet identifies the projection system used on the map sheet.

in a polar projection you can the northern hemisphere, a mercador projection where you can see stretched out land.
Mercator's projection is a map used mostly in the Americas. The purpose of the map projection was to help sailors trade. It was a sailor's map
