A certificate means that you have the minimal training in an area and they usually consist of classes that are strictly related to that field such as fire safety for a certifi…cate in fire fighting. A diploma or degree consists of all of those classes plus electives of your choice usually in the arts and sciences. Obviously the certificate takes less time but the diploma or degree puts you in the position to further your education by going on to the next degree.
Degree vs Diploma Both degree and diploma are awards conferred on to a person on the successful completion of an educational course. However, there are several differences b…etween both the terms and cannot be used interchangeably. The tenure of a degree course can be around 3-4 years based on the geographical location while one can complete a diploma within 1-2 years. A degree is generally conferred to a person by an accredited or recognized university whereas a diploma can be conferred to a person by any private educational or vocational institution or polytechnic. Also, the focus and aims of both the degree course and diploma course are different. A degree course emphasizes significance on academics. The curriculum is so structured that the person undergoing the course is provided overview of several subjects apart from one subject that the person may interested in exploring further for both career and academic interests. Typically, that one subject is called a 'major' or 'specialization' whereas other subjects are called minors or electives. For instance, if one is interested in pursuing a degree in accounting, the course will involve several other subjects that may come in use for a career in accounting such as mathematics, statistics, business etiquette and commercial law. The diploma, on the other hand, focuses on getting a person trained and qualified in a particular business or trade. The curriculum, while teaching the minimum required academic and theoretical knowledge, emphasizes more on how to handle on the job situations. Some of them even include a short stint of apprenticeships and on-the job training as part of the diploma course. Taking the same example as mentioned above, pursuing a diploma in accounting may involve training the person on book keeping. The curriculum will not involve subjects like business etiquette or statistics. While there are degree programs available for different and varied subjects, diplomas are most often available in subjects that are focused on a profession such as cooking, hotel management, nursing, basic carpentry and engineering skills and so on. Most universities have a mandate that candidates interested in pursuing a master's program should have completed a degree or 3-4 years of academic study. While a degree holder can easily get through this stipulation, diploma holders may find it difficult to resume academic study on the subject because of this condition. It is a thought that degrees and diplomas are not treated on par in the corporate world or the actual industry or trade '" that diplomas are considered inferior to degrees and having a diploma can be a show stopper for progress in career. However, some companies do not agree to this statement. Apart from educational qualifications, companies look at a multitude of factors during recruitment or promotion such as performance and attitude of the candidate. Having a degree or diploma may not affect the career of a person entering a lower rung of work but as one enters the management levels, having a degree can be a plus. WWW.LPU.IN
Post graduate degree is for 2 year and post graduate diploma is for 1 year
A diploma is a certificate that says you graduated from an institution (in this case it's high school). A GED is something you can receive if you drop out of high school but w…ant to go to college; it's a certificate pretty much says "I may not have finished high school, but I have the basic knowledge to attend college." A diploma is better than a GED.
A diploma is 1-2 years in length. An associates degree is 2 years in length. Diplomas are not very impressive. Associates degrees are much more valuable than diplomas, and the…y only require a few more classes than a diploma. More information: Whether a diploma is marketable or not will be dependent on the specific field, or program of study. There are some diploma programs such as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) that lead to stable and rewarding careers. Should the individual want to pursue a higher degree, many schools of nursing offer a ladder program that leads to an Associates of Science degree as a Registered Nurse (RN). This is just one example, there are many more. Still, when it comes to diploma programs, make sure you are taking it at an accredited college. Just check with a community college and see what they offer. Some individuals have an urgency to get out into the work force as quickly as possible for a variety of bona fide reasons. The diploma is just one option. I will say this, it is a very competitive market out there, and a diploma in Business Administration is not going to do much in a corporate arena. There are just so many individuals with Associates, Bachelors, Masters, and PhD 's out there. The higher the degree, the more doors that will be open to you. Now, I said the more doors that will be open to you. That does not mean success in securing a permanent position through every door. The rest will be up to you. It will depend on how you interview, your experience, how you hold yourself, your appearance, whether you are a self starter, appropriately aggressive, your passion, and other personal traits. All these you can work to improve. It's a matter of the perception you create, your attitude, and presentation. Remember, once you are hired, you will be responsible for living up to the employers expectations based on the perception you have created.
A diploma at TAFE is a course that takes between 1 (if you're taking fast tracking options) to 1 and a half years to complete. It provides basic classes and lessons that shoul…d prepare you for the advanced diploma, assuming you do not drop out after a diploma. An advanced Diploma is usually a 2 year course that covers much harder topics and is more extensive. Advanced Diplomas have the benefit of giving people a much higher chance of getting into Uni than a Diploma. But if you're a high achiever with a Diploma then the chances should both be equal. For example, I am doing Mechanical Engineering as a Diploma and I take Math Basic classes rather than Advanced Mathematics classes. If I get 90+% overall then my chances are equal to that of an advanced diploma into University.
Technically, a diploma is the piece of paper that says you have a degree; however, in the United States, when someone says "college diploma" they usually mean a bachelors degr…ee from a college or university. Technically, a "college diploma" could be any degree (associate's, masters or Phd.) but that's not how it's used. In Canada, a college diploma is a degree received from a two-year institution of higher learning while a bachelors degree is a degree earned from a four-year institution of higher learning. The difference is not limited to the time spent at the institution but can also include the salary differences and the level of a job position. This is not to say that one with a bachelors degree will earn more than one with a college diploma. There are many graduates from a college who are successful (success is not measured by wealth but what one accomplishes in life and the happiness of the individual).
Answer there is no difference, only diploma students get paid. however, if you do the diploma, there is a chance you will have to do the degree before going any h…igher in your career.
The diploma is equal to 3 A grades at A-level, however the A-level is significantly worth more UCAS points than a Diploma, but really it's not what's better generally, it'…s what is better for you.
Post grad diploma usually carries 120 credits whilst a masters hold 180 credits, in addition one can assume that a PG is for the introduction into a new field of discipl…ine, whilst an Masters is considered an advanced stage to the initial studies carried from previous knowledge

Answer . \nA college degree could be a 2 year degree or associates. But it wouldn't be a bachelor's.. Diploma and Bachelor . College diploma is a middle level of a bac…helor degree
the REAL answer A diploma takes about 1.5 years of full-time study to complete. An associates degree takes about 2 years of full-time study to complete. So you're prob…ably thinking that you should just get the diploma because it takes less time to earn, right? WRONG. An associates degree is much, much more valuable than a diploma. There aren't a lot of career options for people with just a diploma. Get the associates degree and you won't regret it. Answer The higher the degree, the more doors that will be opened to you. Still, you can not judge a diploma solely on that bases. Its a matter of job requirements, and passion for what you want to do. Some diploma programs are very specialized and lead to rewarding careers. In addition, many have ladder programs leading to higher degrees in the same area. As three examples, Practical Nursing, Interpreters for the deaf, and Interpreters of Spoken Languages. There are many more. Check with your home county community college for more detail. Diploma vs. Degree is not always a question of better, its just a matter of being different, and does it satisfy your career goals and objectives. Viper1
