A degree in computer science technology deals with advances and current state of the art in computer hardware and software. A degree in computer information systems deals with the implementation of computer technology.


IT would expose you to networking, system administration, programming, etc. whereas computer science technology is mainly programming. The program that colleges offer could vary from college to college so make sure you look at the course description before applying. Some colleges offer computer science programs that are more career-oriented and you're more likely to find job openings in your specific field after completing these programs.
