The only difference is in the shell color and the breed that layed the egg. Nutritionally and taste wise (if the hens laying the eggs are fed exactly the same thing) there is no diffenence. People who claim that there is a difference are unable to distinguish colored eggs taste from white shelled eggs in BLIND taste testing.=DDDD The color is the most obvious difference, but also the quality may vary. Note that this might not be correct, but the local stores near my town have brown eggs that have healthier nutrients than the white egg. Also, the hen that layed the eggs may have different habits or are of different species. Hope this helps!

Color only. There is no nutritional difference. White eggs are preferred by home consumers because the egg industry chose the white egg to promote "clean & pure" when advertising their product. Brown eggs are preferred by commercial users since it is easier to spot errant bits of shell and therefore removing it from the liquid mass.

They come from different colored chickens. Nutritionally, there is no difference (but the brown ones are pretty!).

'What is the difference between white shelled eggs and brown shelled hen eggs'?

White eggs and brown eggs are a result of the type of chicken that lays that egg. For the most part, white eggs are produced by chickens with white feathers. Chickens with brown or red feathers lay brown eggs. There are chickens who produce speckled eggs too.

Which egg boils faster a brown egg or an white egg?

white

Are brown eggs better for us?

NO. There is no nutritional difference between a white egg and a brown egg. Different breeds of chickens lay different colored eggs. The color of the egg has nothing to do with the contents of the egg. White eggs are and have been popular with the home consumer because they give the impression of clean and pure. Brown eggs are most popular with restaurants as it is easier to spot and remove a small piece of brown shell from a large batch of eggs in a recipe.

How do you turn brown egg to white egg?

Where does the white egg come from when the brown eggs come from the chicken?

The difference between a brown egg and a white egg is......that a brown egg is laid by a reddish-brown hen with reddish-brown ear lobes, and a white egg is laid by a hen with white feathers and white ear lobes. Then again this is not necessarily always true! Check out www.backyardchickens.com/for the actual breeds that lay each color. There are also more colors or variations.

What stains eggs brown?

Brown eggs are not " stained" brown, they are naturally that colour. Egg shell colours depend on the type and colour of the chicken that laid the egg. White chickens will produce white eggs and brown chickens will lay brown eggs. It's due to the amount of melanin, similar to the difference in human skin colours.

What makes brown chicken eggs healthier for human consumption than white chicken eggs?

Nope! The only difference between brown eggs & white eggs is the shell's colour. Happy Egg Eating! Absolutely NOT! The only difference in shell color is the breed of chicken that laid it. If the hens were fed the same diet, brown-shelled eggs and white-shelled eggs are the same. Thete ARE some people who swear that they taste differently. Unfortunately for them, taste tests have consistently proved that those people CANNOT tell the difference.
