What would you like to do?
Air Soft Guns shoot 6mm plastic BB, usually around 300 Feet per second (FPS,) some faster, some slower. The law requires that all air soft guns and rifles have a RED tip on the barrel to identify them as a toy. They sting you when they hit you. BB Guns shoot smaller .177 (4.5) steel BB's starting at 300 FPS up to 1,000 FPS in the more powerful rifles. These guns do not have to have a RED tip on the barrel because they are not toys and can be deadly. BB guns are part of the family of "Pellet Guns" that shoot pellets or BB's but are also driven by compressed air just like the BB guns. BB and Pellet guns can do serious damage to a person if they hit you.

They Sting, they hurt, and they cause a welt, but will not kill you under normal circumstances.
Both are powered by Air or CO2. But a bb gun fires a bb. (.177 caliber) BB guns and Rifles traditionally have smooth bore barrels.. Air Rifles (I assume you are asking about …Pellet firing air rifles) fire .177 pellets usually through a "rifled bore barrel" giving the pellet more spin and causing it to travel straighter. Pellet Air Rifles come in .177 cal, but also come in 20, 22, 25, 45 and 50 Caliber pellets. They tend to be more powerful than the bb rifles. Crosman, Daisy Beeman and RWS are just a few of the air gun makers who make bb guns and Pellet Air Rifles.
Airsoft guns shoot plastic 6mm pelets. BB guns shoot slightly smaller metal balls, and should not be shot at people.
air soft gun needs air, pellet guns dont 7/7/09: Air Soft guns fire a 6mm plastic BB. It will not due much harm but can sting when they hit you. Pellet guns use… ( for the power source one of the following) a spring, C02 cylinder, Pump Action, or compressed air from an air tank (PCP's) They fire a .175 cal BB or .177 Pellet. They also are made in the following calibers. .20, .22, .25, 9mm, 45Cal and 50Cal. These airguns at the higher end are more powerful and can be deadly. They are often used for hunting. Where an Air Soft gun is NOT used for hunting.
Air soft is the common term, soft air is the correct name.
stingers are Airsoft guns
The main difference is that Air Soft guns generally fire plastic rounds, while BB guns fire metal rounds. The other difference is that Air Soft are used in games similar… to paintball, while BB guns are not.
It is a gun that shoots plastic balls and they shoot out with air. they are usually plastic and have orange tips.
The question can't be answered unless you specify what your intended use is
An airsoft rifle is not a bb gun. bb guns shoot small metal bb's usually in excess of 800 fps. Airsoft rifles are "softer" and shoot a slightly larger plastic bb at around… 350-450 fps. The Sport of airsoft uses PTW ( Professional Training Weapon) which usually use a cylinder of gas located in the magazine. this offers a kick, barrel jump, loud noise, and realistic motion. Airsoft AEG's (All electric guns) and HPA's (High Pressure Air) as well as GBBR's (Gas Blow Back Rifles) are used for sport just like paintball.
It is not designed to do so.
Actually a BB gun is an air gun. But an air gun also includes pellet guns and rifles. BB guns are the bottom end of the air gun family. Pellet guns are more accurate than BB g…uns and they usually cost more.
Not recommended, ever.
Air soft air guns / rifles shoot a large plastic BB usually around 6mm. They are designed to be shot at an opponent in a war game. They can sting if they strike bare skin but …usually do no do damage if protective clothing is worn. Simply put it is a toy for adults and teens to have fun. They usually fire a projectile (6 mm BB) between 200 to 600 Feet Per Second (FPS). The Tip of the air soft air gun barrel is RED or Orange. Air Guns on the other hand are not designed to be shot at another person, (there is NO red or Orange tip on the barrel.) Starting with a Daisy Red Ryder that fires a copper BB or steel shot at 300 FPS. Air guns / rifles can propel a BB from around 350 FPS up to over 600 FPS depending on the model. Air guns that fire pellets, Not BB's, can travel up to and over 1,300 FPS. The lower end of the air gun family is for simple backyard fun with shooting at targets and cans. The next level is air guns are used for rodent control and small game. The larges and last family of air guns are for Medium to large game and competition shooting. These air guns cost from around $100 to $3000 for an Olympic Class air rifle. Pellet guns / rifles also come in larger calibers. The original .177 caliber is the size of a regular BB. The largest size is a 50 caliber slug (the size of your thumb) and is used for medium to large game hunting. Most young adults / children start with a traditional BB gun and some may move onto a pellet rifle. (It a great way to teach firearms handling's although no real bullets are used.) The final class of air gun is for Serious Adults who like competition shooting and hunting. NONE of the air guns / rifles are designed to be fired at another person. That's what Air soft is used for.
No, you must be 18 to buy an airsoft gun.
In most cases it will be a BB gun. But Pellet guns exceed both the BB and the airsoft guns. Pellet guns can attain speeds over 1200 FPS.
No, they are too large.
