there is a big difference between them. Ashoka wanted peace and be equal to everybody. chandragupta wanted to live a luxury life and he only gathered with rich people. Ashoka was very religuos but chandragupta was only interested in luxury. Ashoka had a small army so that less money would be spent on paying them. chandragupta had a huge army.
